Bio

I have been doing family research since the early 70s, when I was a teen. I was lucky enough to start asking questions when 3 of my 4 grandparents were still alive.
A rough start of trolling dusty books in the Michigan Start Library archive and hand writing family sheets. But many branches reconnected that had been lost for decades or centuries.
My mother and I plan to create memorials for our parents, grandparents, and great grandparents. Beyond that, we will link our ancestors and any children that we have in our research work. I will gladly transfer any memorial to a cousin who is directly related to an individual. I will not claim a "blood" relationship and squat on memorials.
You can find my geneological information on rootsweb, the database is "susanfrance".

France/Beaver/Hoose lines - All France research in MI is my own. This line was difficult to piece together as my grandfather did not know his paternal grandparents, except that they visited his grandmother "somewhere south of Lansing". Eventually I was able to link back to Alexander in Fulton, NY. And from there, everything north of Alexander had been researched in the 1950s and available everywhere. I am not a direct relative to the Beaver/Hoose lines. These were 3 sisters of Alexander France who moved with their husbands to MI.

Hosner lines - Early Hosner relations including Narrin, Hoag, McWhinney, Downey, Rundell, and Batchelder are from original research I did in the late 1970s. This research has been copied into many different geneologies. In the 1980s, my uncle Gerald used my research through Jacob Hosner as a basis for his research. He went back further and also deeper into the existing lines. I continued my work in linking other Hosners in MI who are decendants of Nicholas Hosner.

Frappier/Case lines - Frappier/Case research was started with the information that Wendell Crosby (my mother's cousin) provided to her in the 70s. He had done excellent research given the lack of technology we have available today. I was able to build on, much of this line. There are errors, but everything was low tech. The parentage beyond FX Frappier buried in Linden, MI is my own research.

Coffey/Reeves lines- my father and grandmother Beatrice Coffey France, help me get started on the Coffey line by providing information on this line through Floyd. Beyond that, the research is original and led me to the Coffey farm in Killucan, Co Westmeath, Ireland. I hope to get picture of the cottage online. My mother and I visited in 2003. I went back to clean the grave sites in 2004.
