The majority of the memorials I put on F.A,G, are family members and those who have married into family lines. The photos I have put on Find A Grave are for personal use of other connected families in their off line private family tree histories. Permission has not been asked to submit these photographs to other websites. If these photos are on other website the persons who have posted them have taken them and posted them without asking permission.|

|Wes T.||RE: Source of plot numbers|
I am not surprised at that at all. That fits in with my experience. No one in these counties ever seems to have came up with a system to map their cemeteries.
It is from the canvass and survey which was later published in the book entitled "Our People And Where They Rest," James W. Tyner, Maxine Tyner and Alice Tyner Timmons, on behalf of the American Indian Institute, University of Oklahoma, Norman, Oklahoma. 1969-1985 Vol III, pp. 26-28 (Library of Congress No. QE99-C5-T97) See their map(s) for use as a quick locator tool for graves here. The book is available online. If you need the URL, send me a message.
Many cemeteries do not have ANY system of records, such as the one in Westville. Stilwell at least has an index card system. Tyner's "system" is the only system at all for many of the cemeteries, I have found. My theory is that in the absence of an "official" plot system, it is a good way for someone to locate a grave they are looking for.
Eastern Oklahoma District Library system libraries have this book in their reference system also; Tahlequah, Muskogee, Stilwell, etc.

I LOVE the photo that you have posted of Nora with two of her children. She is my great-grandmother on my father's side. Do you happen to know which kids were in the photo? Thanks for sharing!

Hello Lynn - I see that you often leave a floral memorial to my father, Howard Gaffney (memorial #32072778), and other members of his family. Did you know my father? He died when I was very young, so any information you can share about him would be very important to me. Thank-you. Ann
|T Buttry||Book Family Tree|
Hi Lynn - just got your information from my cousin Sharon. My mother was Ethel Lou Book, daughter to Theodore H. Book and Opal Inman. His father was Theodore Book, married to Ella Boucher first and then Nancy Almedia (Meadie) Caughey, my grandfather's mother.
As far as Theodore's parents, I know he was from Prussia and his name was Jno. Mary was from Holland and they married in Prussia. Two of their children were born in Prussia and the rest were born in the U.S. I have found a document that lists Jno Book as John Buch. I also found where one of his sons was buried with the last name of Bock! I cannot find grave information for Mary or John (Jno).
Please feel free to call me anytime at 314-409-9984 or e-mail me at email@example.com. I am in the process of putting together a book to send out to everyone with the information I have in the hopes that they will fill in any information or stories they have and send it back to me. Once everything is compiled, I will make a book for everyone who wants one.
Nice to know there's some more ancestors out there. I was just commenting the other day that it was so sad that great grandpa and grandma's children were gone and most of their children were gone. It's great to have another "Book" to add to the pile!

Yes, Tracy Buttry is my cousin. Opal and Theodore are my grandparents. My father's name is Hubert Gene, but he goes by Gene. Yes, Aunt Shirley is still living, and lives in Ramona Oklahoma. I don't have her address or phone number but I could get it for you. My dad has it and Tracy has it. We have found a list of John and Mary's children and their spouses. I also have found a few back on Grandma Opal's side, which is not easy to do. And I believe that Grandma Opal was an Inman when she married Grandpa, but we
have also run across the names McLeod and Riley so I'm not sure. I know her mother was Ida Jane Barnett, and she was married to either or both the McLeod and Riley. Was my grandpa Theodore your uncle, and if so, which of his brothers and sisters are your parents? That would make you my Dad's cousin. I'll be glad to share any information I have, and I know that Tracy will
too. If you would like to give me your email addy, I can give it to Tracy and she can contact you directly. Her mother was Ethel Lou Book and we just found out in May of last year that she has a brother that was given up for adoption. He contacted us, and he is the sweetest person. You can reach me direct @ firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. I check both frequently. I look forward to hearing from you again soon.Sharon
