Bio Photo ***A special thank you and hug goes to all the sweet people who have left tokens for my beloved daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Hafford. It means so much to me. Reading the messages and seeing the pretty tokens helps brighten my day when I've been feeling sad.***

***Note added 2 February 2015: Another special memorial I've created is the one for Aaron Doty. Aaron was only 20 years old when he was brutally murdered here in Highlands County. I have been the only person to visit his memorial to date..I would appreciate any tokens left in his memory. You can google his name and our location to read about this heartbreaking story. Two of his murderers were found guilty today.

Find A Grave is a wonderful resource, and I am so happy to have "found" this website. I have been doing family history research on and off since 1970. It is time consuming, as well as a labor of love, and extremely rewarding. Now that I have retired, I am able to spend more time on my favorite hobby.

I am researching these names (ancestors and descendants):
In TN and NC: Sharp/Sharpe, Cooper, Welch, Hatmaker, Duke, Hafford, Tinsley, Tucker, Farbridge, Burton, Mosier, Jarnagan/Jarnagon/possibly Jernigan.

In VA and GA: Watson, Halburt, Burdyne.

In Glamorgan, Wales, UK: Greenberry or Green Berry Hill.

In Kent, UK: John Stevens.

In UK: Thomas Fay/Faye; Margaret Maiter/Maher/Maier, Ellen Lynch, David Lynch, Bolling.

In NY: William Henry Stevens & Maggie/Mary/Mae Fay(e).

In Arkansas: Garrett, Wilson, Calhoun, Farbridge, Hamilton, Hafford.

In VA, GA & FL: Hill, Callahan, Cain, Bradford, Power, Sims, Caraway/Carraway/Cariway, Grisham/Gresham/Grissom.

In VA and OH: Moon.

In GA, AL, FL, TX and OK: Zellner.

I manage the memorial sites for several family members and ancestors, as well as some very dear family friends.

A special place in my heart is held for the FAG memorial # 26414618, that of my beloved daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Hafford .
If you visit her memorial, please leave a remembrance so I will know you have visited.

Here is a wonderful quote by a man I had the pleasure of hearing in person when I was a university student many moons ago: "I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love." Leo F. Buscaglia

I love my FAG friends, and have met some wonderful people associated with this website. I enjoy getting emails from fellow FAG members and visitors. You may want to leave a token at a memorial created in tribute to Fallen Gravers. These people have passed on, but were a part of our group when they were living.

One of my favorite things to do is leave flowers for infants, children or young adults who have been taken from us too soon. It makes me feel sad when I see a memorial that has been created and no one has left a flower for that person. I feel everyone should have a flower at their memorial site to show that someone remembers them.

If you see a memorial for one of your family members that I have created, please let me know how you are related to that person. I will happily transfer them to you, unless they are also a relative of mine. I feel the memorials should be with loved ones (family) whenever possible. Please use the Edit tab on the memorial for that relative to request a transfer.
I take great care with the memorials I create, and I like to include as much information as I have available. If you have a picture, information to add, or a correction, please let me know via the Edit tab. (Thanks.) I feel the memorials are not only a lasting tribute to the person, but they are a very valuale resource for fellow genealogists and family historians.

RE: Hafford tombstone pic
Your welcome. First time I've been to the St. Rose Cemetery. I found it by accident when taking the road between Franklin Falls and Union Falls. It's in a nice location. Right on the Clinton and Essex County line. All Irish in the cemetery.

Lauren Elizabeth Hafford
Dear Gwen,

It is with deepest sympathy I write you on the loss of your precious daughter Lauren Elizabeth.

Gwen all we can them now is to live fully in their place ~ for each and every loved one we are no longer blessed to be with. We must go on until it is our time to be reunited with them.

May God give you and your family the continued strength you need to endure.

Your Lauren appears to have been an amazing soul who will always be a part of your being. She left you and your family way to soon. I am so sorry.

It is an honor to visit Lauren Elizabeth's memorial and to see her beautiful smile.

Fondly, Clair

You are very welcome. It is my pleasure to visit your precious daughter Lauren. So beautiful and taken so needlessly. I hope the guy is rotting in jail. I don't imagine it ever gets any easier. Love & Hugs, Rosie

Power, W.W. Power, C.G Power, Mrs. MaryAnn Johnson of Texarkana, Arkansas, Mrs. Georgia A. Ambrose died several years ago, Mrs., Elizabeth j. Street and Mrs. Emma F. Wilson both of Buford.
The husband and father was ki...lled on September 19, 1863 on the first day of the battle between Southern and Northern armies at Chickamauga. This left a widow with the burden of a large family to raise and educate. This she assiduously herself to and with the aid of the three boys has grown into a very large and influential one.
Mrs. Power joined the Baptist Church at quite a young and lived a consistent Christian until her death. The Church has lost a faithful member and the community a real “Mother of Israel”.
The funeral services were conducted at the Baptist Church by Reverend J. J. Twitty and the remains deposited in the New Cemetery in the presence of a large gathering of relatives and friends though the weather was very unpleasant.
To the bereaved family the Plowboy joins the community in condolences
