***A special thank you and hug goes to all the sweet people who have left tokens for my beloved daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Hafford. It means so much to me. Reading the messages and seeing the pretty tokens helps brighten my day when I've been feeling sad.***|
***Note added 2 February 2015: Another special memorial I've created is the one for Aaron Doty. Aaron was only 20 years old when he was brutally murdered here in Highlands County. I have been the only person to visit his memorial to date..I would appreciate any tokens left in his memory. You can google his name and our location to read about this heartbreaking story. Two of his murderers were found guilty today.
Find A Grave is a wonderful resource, and I am so happy to have "found" this website. I have been doing family history research on and off since 1970. It is time consuming, as well as a labor of love, and extremely rewarding. Now that I have retired, I am able to spend more time on my favorite hobby.
I am researching these names (ancestors and descendants):
In TN and NC: Sharp/Sharpe, Cooper, Welch, Hatmaker, Duke, Hafford, Tinsley, Tucker, Farbridge, Burton, Mosier, Jarnagan/Jarnagon/possibly Jernigan.
In VA and GA: Watson, Halburt, Burdyne.
In Glamorgan, Wales, UK: Greenberry or Green Berry Hill.
In Kent, UK: John Stevens.
In UK: Thomas Fay/Faye; Margaret Maiter/Maher/Maier, Ellen Lynch, David Lynch, Bolling.
In NY: William Henry Stevens & Maggie/Mary/Mae Fay(e).
In Arkansas: Garrett, Wilson, Calhoun, Farbridge, Hamilton, Hafford.
In VA, GA & FL: Hill, Callahan, Cain, Bradford, Power, Sims, Caraway/Carraway/Cariway, Grisham/Gresham/Grissom.
In VA and OH: Moon.
In GA, AL, FL, TX and OK: Zellner.
I manage the memorial sites for several family members and ancestors, as well as some very dear family friends.
A special place in my heart is held for the FAG memorial # 26414618, that of my beloved daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Hafford .
If you visit her memorial, please leave a remembrance so I will know you have visited.
Here is a wonderful quote by a man I had the pleasure of hearing in person when I was a university student many moons ago: "I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love." Leo F. Buscaglia
I love my FAG friends, and have met some wonderful people associated with this website. I enjoy getting emails from fellow FAG members and visitors. You may want to leave a token at a memorial created in tribute to Fallen Gravers. These people have passed on, but were a part of our group when they were living.
One of my favorite things to do is leave flowers for infants, children or young adults who have been taken from us too soon. It makes me feel sad when I see a memorial that has been created and no one has left a flower for that person. I feel everyone should have a flower at their memorial site to show that someone remembers them.
If you see a memorial for one of your family members that I have created, please let me know how you are related to that person. I will happily transfer them to you, unless they are also a relative of mine. I feel the memorials should be with loved ones (family) whenever possible.
To request transfer:
Go to the person's Memorial Page, Click on the _Edit_ tab at the top of the page, then "Make A Suggestion" and request the transfer, including your name, reason requesting the transfer and your FAG ID number.
I take great care with the memorials I create, and I like to include as much information as I have available. If you have a picture, information to add, or a correction, please let me know via the _Edit_ tab at the top of the memorial page. (Thanks.) I feel the memorials are not only a lasting tribute to the person, but they are a very valuable resource for fellow genealogists and family historians.
I never intentionally create duplicates or place someone in the incorrect cemetery. If I have made an error, just kindly point it out to me, please. I'm human, I do make mistakes.

Thank you for doing this for my father as I am still trying to bounce back from losing him in Feb. and then my Mother in June so this has been a very hard year and I know I would have thought of this but I am glad you honored him. I will pray for your daughter as I know you have been praying for my father.
|Lee Welch||RE: Welch|
Thanks for accepting those edits. I'm sorry my response is less prompt than yours. I wanted to pursue some possible Tennessee connections. My Welch ancestors came through North Carolina to western Tennessee and northern Mississippi. Some later went further west. I haven't found any who settled in eastern Tennessee. Of course that could change - I've had surprises before! Thanks again, and good luck in your search.

Oh, thank you very much!

I added my photo to yours and deleted mine. Seems like there was alot of dupes at that cemetery and I missed this one. If you find any more just let me know I will correct. Take Care and thanks again, Cat

|Chryse||John Snodderly family information/research|
Since you left flowers on the memorial page for John Snodderly
I was wondering if you had any research on the family.
I am descended from the Snodderly line in Tennessee (it started with a DNA test through Ancestry.com) but am not quite exactly sure how. I think I found the right family line but most information online is very mixed up and confusing. I also hate to spend years researching only to discover someone else already has it all figured out, haha.
The information and people on FindAGrave seems to be missing some people (which is to be expected if you can't find the burial information) but seemed less confusing then most sites I find so I thought I would reach out to those who left flowers as a start.
If you can help please let me know. Thank you so much for your time!

|Laura Tully||RE: Tully / Millinor edit|
Yes, that would be fine. She is the niece of my 2nd great-grandfather. I'm trying to connect all of the Tully families from Wakulla County, FL that I see on findagrave that have marker photos and she's one of them. Thank you.
|Jennifer Carney||Sgt. Richard Dennis Millen, Jr.|
I actually have the original. My grandmother had it. I also have the original cabinet card photo of his brother (my 3rd great grandfather) in his confederate uniform and his father together with some hand written letters from the trenches.
i feel so lucky that my family kept these and that they're in such good condition.
|Jennifer Carney||Margaret McWilliams|
HI. I see that you've created a memorial for Margaret McWilliams who passed away in FL in June of 2015.
She was my great aunt. I saw in the memorial the note that she was cremated and her ashes given to a family member or friend. She didn't have much family left as all of her brothers and husbands passed away before her and she didn't have any children. I guess i was just wondering if you knew her personally?
I didn't know that she was cremated. Thanks for posting that little bit of info.
