A Southern Family Tree is not a tree but a beautiful Wisteria Vine with many branches going everywhere and a lost root!|
NSDAR 1988 Patriots: Rev. Lewis Cookson Davis, John Anderson, Charles Heard, William Hay, Lt. Willis Pope, Nathaniel Jones,John Stovall, Absalom Davis and Owen Griffin. Only one has a known grave site so the rest do not have memorials on FAG. (Update Nov 2015: found that other members are now making unknown burials of these patriots meeting their genealogy storage goal and not FAG's goal of recording graves sites)

To keep weeds out of the beautiful Find A Grave garden....
First, I don't link to Burial Unknown Site Memorials as BU shouldn't be on FAG according to the guidelines of the website. Do not request relationship edits to a BU as it will be refused. The first criteria for making a memorial on FAG is having the burial site, as this is a grave registration site. When you made a BU, you have a chance of losing the memorial to the member who "Find A Grave" in the cemetery.
Second, I may or may not transfer outside of the guidelines to an established member. It is my choice. Long-time hard working-members, who are busy in surveying cemeteries and taking grave photos impress me more than someone who is collecting others' memorials for their personal goal or waiting for someone to find the burial sites for their numerous memorials made with an "unknown burial site".
Lastly, there are no duplicated memorials on FAG. If I find a duplicated memorial while researching this site, there is 99% chance that it will be deleted or merged eventually.
You may disagree with the guidelines but remember the guy who started Find A Grave wrote them. He is the boss.
Many of the memorials transferred to me were done without my request for them. These memorials have found a home and will be nurtured.
Also, thank you for all the flowers and tokens left on my family's memorial. They are all sincerely appreciated by me and my family.
Remember to check on the Discussion Forums here. They are very newsy, helpful and interesting!

Linda, If you go back and look now, you will see that I have updated this memorial on 1/2/2016 with a picture of his headstone. On Dec. 5th I did take this picture and for some reason it didn't turn out. So I posted the other picture until I could go back and take what you wanted.
|Thea Neace-Smith||RE: Walnut Ridge Cemetery|
First of all, I DID NOT intentionally duplicate any memorials. My own family research led me to Quaker records which had the Walnut Ridge Friends Cemetery transcribed. I did searches on several, not all, of the names listed (which led to no memorials) BEFORE I added any.
Also, I have received some requests to delete duplicated memorials, but not from you. They were from another Find A Grave member and I deleted them like requested.
I am in the process of deleting ALL memorials I added to this cemetery whether duplicate or not. I apologize to the family members of these people for this. Especially the ones who have added info to their loved ones memorials. Hopefully they will add the memorials back and not be hassled by anyone.
BTW, the twins are GREAT!

Thank you for your quick response. I agree with you on the BU issue: it's Findagrave, so if you don't find the grave, don't create one. I had asked the administrators to re-evaluate their famous burial, since it won't be in that bogus cemetery either. Unfortunately people create cemeteries overseas who are not familiar with neither the language nor the geography. I am constantly running across invented cemeteries in Germany and it takes a lot of time to get those corrected or deleted. Thank you again.
