Bio

For twenty years I have been researching and writing on women's military history and doing my own family's genealogy as well. I am a pioneer scholar on the women Civil War soldiers (see 2006 Women on the Civil War Battlefront). I have authored: 'Til I Come Marching Home: A Brief History of American Women in World War II; Great Necessities: The Life, Times, and Writings of Anna Ella Carroll, 1815-1894; and South Under a Prairie Sky: The Journal of Nell Churchill, US Army Nurse & Scout, a very factual work of fiction, based on my family in Illinois. I may best contribute to this site by adding biographical information and/or research tips.
