Bio Photo "In all of us, there is a hunger, marrow deep, to know our heritage - to know who we are and where we came from.

Without this enriching knowledge, there is a hollow yearning. No matter what our attainments in life, without the sure knowledge of our provenance, this yearning yields to an emptiness, a vacuum and the most disquieting loneliness."

RE: Lewis Irvin/Ervin Powell
Thanks! I appreciate your quick response. I'm not sure, but I think I'm hitting a road block around Lewis Riddle Powell and William Riddle Powell because of a possible Native American connection and their using different names at times.

Tyre, Cowart and McIntosh family histories
Hi,
You cannot imagine my surprise when I read your account of Joanna hiding all the dishes and silverware at the foot of her bed. My mother even thinks there may have been a baby hidden as well. I would be so ecstatic to share these stories with you as I have documentation to back up a lot of it (DAR, SAR) I hope you get this message because I think we have a lot of common history to share. Thanks!

Bonds
Do you know the father of James and Archibald Bonds? I am related to Richard (1740-abt 1787). His son Richard (abt 1775-1834 Calhoun Co, AL - have his will) is my 5th great grandfather.

You're so very welcome. I'm honored to mark the spots "where Valor proudly sleeps". Sounds like a wonderful guy. My condolences in the loss of your friend. Warm regards.

RE: Emily Amelia Davis Martin
No problem. I have enjoyed doing the research on the James Davis-Mary Hightower line and have met a lot of nice people along the way.
