Rachel R. Lower
Sorry it took so long, had to look up Rachel. I have been working out of a Lower Family Tree book dated 1912 and updated and reissued in 1956 by the family. I have an excerpt below. =============
Rachel Rebecca Lower, of David and Susan Lower, born near Williamsburg, Blair County, Pa., May 17, 1845, came with her parents to Illinois in 1861, and died September 20, 1865, and was buried in the Lanark Cemetery.

Anna Margaret Lower, of David and Susan Lower, born near Williamsburg, Pa., May 14, 1848; married John W. Chesnut December 17, 1874. At thirteen years of age she came, with her parents, to Dwight, ILL; living there three years, they moved to Lanark, ILL. Here she lived with her parents until married, when she and her husband moved to their new home near Adair, Iowa, where she still lives (1912),
Rachel's sister's information indicates the family moved to Lanark in 1864. Sorry I have no more information.
Thanks for the photo

I would like to ask your permission to use your headstone photos of Tracy # 121259522 and Laura # 121258872 Fomby on my family tree on

Thank you so much for your time and trouble to take the photos of headstones in the cemeteries. I know this is time consuming and hard work.

Thank You,

Perfect! No worries. I know all about "real life." Just wanted to make sure I wasn't causing undo headaches. :)

I have recently begun transcribing obits from the Thomson Review and have submitted numerous. Because of the number of them, I want to make sure I am submitting to you correctly and that I am not causing more harm than good. Thank you!

Maria Meyer
Dear Mr. Birely,
I want to thank you so much for the pictures you sent from the Hooppole Cemetery. Marie Meyer was my great great aunt. Did you have any luck with her husband Andrew Meyer or John Christian Rockenbach and his wife Catherine Hilger? They should all be buried in the same location. Is there anyway to repay you for your time and effort, just let me know.
Truly Yours,
Ralph Rockenbach

Haughs Cemetery - Birely Memorials
Mr. Birely, I am working on a family history of the OTTO family to whom Mary Ellen Otto married into the Birely's. If you have an additional information you would care to provide or even to communicate so that will be as accurate as possible, it would be appreciated. I live in Kansas but visited the area and met with distant Otto living relatives both last year and this July. I keep finding more information all the time about my OTTO family and all that married into them. I have also visited Haughs and several other cemeteries in the area.
