By the way, I see you and I share interests --- in old B&W films, and in military history. Yo8u like a lot of the same films I do... "the third man" in particular. I enjoy film noir generally. Joseph Cotten and his wife Patricia Medina are buried here in Petersburg (they're the only Hollywood stars of that period I know of who rest nearby), so I've visited their graves several times. A lot of my favorite were "cremated, ashes scattered at sea."
Next time I'm in LA I plan to go to the garage where Thelma died and leave flowers. (I understand it's still frequently done. The garage owner is probably sick and tired of throwing them away. Either that or he takes them into the house and puts them in vases.)

Yes though the District Attorney contested/played down the results. He claimed she could have broken her own ribs on the steering wheel while her body convulsed as she died. But this is strange since she was found sitting on the passenger's side, with her body slumped to the left --- her head was on the seat on the driver's side, her feet, legs and buttocks on the passenger's side. Photos of the scene show this. (BTW with a broken rib you don't usually need an autopsy, to a physician it's obvious, at least if the death was recent.) Of course the DA ultimately ended up murdered himself. He and much of the LAPD in those days was notoriously corrupt. DA was in the mob's pocket. Lucky Luciano and Bugsy Siegel were the 2 mobsters known to have connections with Thelma's husband. Whoever did it, it's always been apparent to me (and most people at the time) that if it was a suicide, it was a very bizarre suicide.

She was a dear friend and a wonderful person which you know if you had the pleasure of meeting her. And she had a wicked sense of humor!

Thank you for the compliment regarding her biography. I appreciate that. I've seen your name associated with numerous memorial flowers left for people. Take care. Frank

Well thank you..I baby sat for him and adored his son Jeff. Wish I could have kept in contact w/ Jeff. Magnificent as his father...His mother Pat was tall, beautiful and nice. His little sister I don't know about anymore..cute though.

I assume you're referring to the note I left on her Angel Day, 8.30.1981. To me, Vera-Ellen was the greatest female dancer of the Golden Age of movies. I own most of her musicals on DVD and belong to the Vera-Ellen on-line Yahoo group. She was simply the best! Cheers~~ Lon +

I hope that you are having a very wonderful day!
Thank you for the kind words that you left for me today. I appreciate them very much.
There are so many nice people here on Find A Grave.
By the way, I noticed on your profile that you like old B & W movies; so do I. I will always opt for the oldies-but-goodies rather than any of the newer ones.
"The Shop Around The Corner" is one of my very favorites! I have seen it so many times! It is a great movie!
Well, thank you again.
Take good care and be well.
