Hi - I just added a photo of their headstone to their memorial pages. You left a note that you are related, so letting you know for your research. Sadly it's red granite which makes photographing difficult, but hope it's of some use. Regards, Phyllis

Polly and Moses Garrett family
For reasons way too complicated to list here, I think these people were at least connected and probably related to both my husband and me! Some of your surnames that connect in some way are Cox, Dawson, Earnest, Harris, Martin, Noble and Spencer. I recently started keeping track of the Harris surname as one that connects my Willis/Martin family with my husband's Ford family. Do you know of anyone who would be interested in comparing notes?

Graves Cemetery
I may be able to put you in touch with a distant cousin of yours Steve Graves of Tampa Florida. I am trying to help him locate the Graves Cemetery near Bullock in Granville County as he also descends from this line. Do you have any info at all?......Thanks Mike Graves

RE: Picture on FAG for Dora Ann Newton Latimer
Looks to me like Lizzie could be either one of the women on top row- hard to be certain.
BTW- you list Richard Elmer Newton as a sibling. He is a half sibling -son of Richard Wilson Newton and Mary E. Scott, who married first John A.J. Burkett 16 Oct 1867, second Joshua C. Peek 6 Jul 1879, and third Newton 4 Dec 1890.

RE: Picture on FAG for Dora Ann Newton Latimer
Thanks for the prompt permission. I have continued to mull over the picture and appropriate caption. I went back over my picture of Dora Smith’s family taken before Aug 1902 and Dora looks of the same age of maybe a little younger.
I found a picture of Albert hill as an adult and am fairly certain that Albert Hill is the youth in the middle top row. (I focus on comparing ears, which don’t change with age.)
I compared the picture on Nannie Newton’s ancestry page and believe that the young woman on top right is Nannie Newton. I went back through my pictures of Dora Smith and found a picture of Dora and “unidentified friend” of abt 1900. The “unidentified friend” looks a lot like Nannie Newton and is standing behind and to the left of Dora- just like in your picture.
At the risk of over working this, I would suggest that your caption first note what was written on the back of the picture (as in your original caption). Then something like- believed to be top row- L-R- Jane or Dora Newton; Thomas Jefferson Scott (nicknamed “); Nannie Newton; bottom row L-R- Jane or Dora Newton; Albert Hill ; Dora Smith. Thought to be taken about 1902 Fannin TX.

I realized that in my excitement over the picture that I was remiss in getting your permission before posting it to my grandmothers ancestry page.I would like to have your belated permission.
Thank you.

Picture on FAG for Dora Ann Newton Latimer
I was delighted to see this picture which includes my paternal grandmother Dora Smith, daughter of James Alexander Smith and Louella Sidney Scott. This is the earliest picture of her in Fannin TX.
I believe that she is the young woman on the right side in first row. Dora, Lizzie and Jane Newton were step first cousins (daughters of Richard Wilson Newton, who married second Mary E. Scott- my grandmother's aunt).
Albert Hill was the brother-in-law of Wm A. Burkett, who was a son of John A.J. Burkett, who was the first husband of Mary E. Scott.
"Elad" Scott has to be Thomas Jefferson Scott, son of William W. Scott, uncle of my grandmother.
These young people were 16 to 20 in 1900 and some had left Fannin by 1907, so the picture was about 1903.
I have extensive records on this Scott family on my ancestry tree "Moore".
Thanks again.

Campbell-Rittenberry Cemetery in Campbellsville, TN
Hi. Mary Bob McClain, who has been a tremendous help to me on several occasions, referred to you about a bit of information on the memorials of Alexander Campbell and Margaret M. (Margaret McErwin Thompson) Campbell at the Campbell-Rittenberry Cemetery. (The memorials are #61663460 and #61663486,and belong to Mary Bob.)
The statement in question is that Alexander & Margaret had nine children. I can only account for six, but I have noticed that the extra three, usually unnamed, have crept into some people's ancestry trees. Alexander and Margaret are my great-great grandparents, so I'd like to pursue the truth of the matter. Would you be willing to help me out with your knowledge of the children besides Mary Matilda, Margaret Ann, Martha Caroline, Hamilton Crockett, Robert Newton, and Laura Etta?
Much appreciated,
