Bio

I'm a retired federal employee (Social Security Administration) who fell into doing some online family research for a friend of mine - a McKenzie - and now I'm in so deep I can't get out! Most of you probably know the feeling. But it's a harmless obsession which I enjoy so I'll stick with it until I pull out the rest of my disappearing hair. I try to post most of my findings on Find a Grave so if you're interested in the McKenzie family who settled in central Missouri after emigrating from North Carolina via Kentucky, just scroll down and enter - mckenzie - in the "Last Name" box and take a look!

As for my own family, some surnames would be Fallas, Fallass, Bray, Oechsli, Mills - most of those in the northeastern quadrant of the lower 48 - and, on the Swedish side, Nilsson and Waldemarsson in Stehag, Eslövs kommun, Skåne län, Sweden. Two of the few "persons of note" to hail from the little town of Stehag were this fella and this one, as well. For a list of others, go to . . . https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stehag. Here's the list:

Famous people from Stehag

Torgny Schunnesson (born 1948), filmmaker and journalist
Greger Andersson (1952–2012), professor of musicology at Lund University, member of the Royal Academy of Music
Vilhelm Ekelund (1880–1949), writer
Martin Larsson (born 1974), screenwriter for film and TV
Brutus Östling (born 1958), writer, photographer and book publisher
Joy M'Batha (born 1994), rapper
