PLEASE use the Edit tab and Suggest a Correction link to add/correct information. I try to get to them within 24 hours of receipt.|
I don't do estimated birth years. The relatives of the dearly departed not only could get the date of death wrong on the monument but the age at death. Too many people take anything they find on the Internet as gospel, and I will not contribute to that bad habit.
PLEASE use the Edit tab and Suggest a Correction to request a transfer. Please include your relationship. I will not transfer out of guidelines. Please spare me the "I am the family genealogist" and the "I have tons of information to add" stories. Use the edit system. Too many people have requested out-of-guidelines transfers and then never added so much as a comma to the memorial. Requests for bulk transfers will be summarily ignored.
I WILL NOT link to a "burial unknown". This IS a grave registration site.
If I do not maintain the memorial, but add a picture, PLEASE check the photo caption for the inscription.
My love of old cemeteries is genetic from my dad. I try to take pictures of the fallen/damaged markers first as they might end up "behind the shed" or "over the wall" by the next time I get there.

Could you please transfer Paul L. Collins (151020378) to me? He is my uncle...
Thanks - Pat Collins

I did note the icon later.
Both the burials are unknown, as you indicate. That is indicated on their memorial pages.
From what I can see, Find A Grave does have the option to create these kinds of memorials, when adding memorial records. Under "burial" there is an "other" option. This provides a drop down list with several options including: cremated - given to friend, scattered, location unknown, buried/lost at sea, donated, non-cemetery burial, recent death - location unknown.
I chose the "non-cemetery burial" option. In the case of Cornelius under burial, I list the following:
Specifically: Burial location unknown, he died in West Indies.
Additionally, I cited a source in his bio giving the location of his death. I did similarly with wife, Jane Coffin.
I created the memorial pages to provide a place for cousins to connect.
If you still choose not to connect, that is your option. I hope you will reconsider.
Both of those burials are burials unknown which are not allowed under Find A Grave guidelines.

I don't understand why you declined an edit that I requested for Waitstill to her parents Cornelius Butler and Jane Coffin. The reason you provided was:
General reason: This edit will remove accurate data.
I don't know how a link to her parents would remove accurate data.
From my research, the request was a reasonable one, so I don't understand why you declined it.
Is there something I am missing?

Hi P.K., I had no connection to Mary or Spring Grove Cemetery in Florence, Mass. and was looking to transfer her memorial to someone who does.
I didn't find anyone else but noticed you had done alot there and looking at your memorials and dedication to find a grave, I knew you would be the perfect manager to edit if needed/manage her memorial hopefully until a family member comes along.

Pk you were a HUGE help, thank you. At least now I can let that 1880 US Census with your Flora A go. I did not know your Flora died so thanks for breaking down that wall for me. lol
My Addie Flor (how its spelled in the birth recording) did not have her birth recorded until 1888. Several of her other siblings were recorded with hers.
So, again thank you, thank you as you were a big help. Sometimes its the littlest of things.....

Hey, Pk I am messaging you to see if you might know something about this individual.
My problem is I am researching an Addie Flora Thompson who appears in George & Mary L Thompson's household on the 1880 US Census as Flora A Thompson.
She also appears on the 1910 US Census in George's household with her children under the last name of her 2nd husband~Addie F Peterson.
My problem is on all Addie Flora Thompson's birth, marriage, etc. records, her mother is listed as Elizabeth "Lizzie" Gove. Elizabeth "Lizzie' (Gove) Thompson died in 1921 & is interned at Pine Grove Cemetery Lynn, MA.
Could Addie Flora Thompson be a cousin or niece to George & Mary L Thompson?
Thanks in advance for any crumbs of knowledge for I am crossed eyed researching the Gove Family. =)

Nice male dobsonfly on your profile...I used to see those all the time when I worked night shift.
|Erin Bohannon||RE: Harry Taylor Photo|
You are very welcome! Glad I could find it for her. :D The entire cemetery is flat ground markers...I also photographed a bunch of other Taylors, who will be added soon. Not sure if they are related or not, but....
Wow thanks, I had no idea John used my picture yet. We had talked about it but I never knew it went to "print". Thanks much for letting me know!
