IMPORTANT: Edits should be sent through the Find A Grave listing using the edit tabs. I verify all updates before making the change. If there is not enough information for me to verify your edits, I may ask for your sources. I am not doing this to be a pain, but I have received edits from people who *think* that they have one person, when in fact they don't.
I am happy to transfer people that I have added, if am not descended from that person.
SUPER IMPORTANT: I have had the misfortune to encounter some Find A Grave members who are nothing but bullies, and are emboldened by because they are not face to face with the people they are shoving around. I have no problem reporting such people to Find A Grave and Ancestry's Executive Action Team in Provo, and encourage you to do the same if you encounter such a gorgon. If you are feeling mistreated, and cannot work your differences out, or if you do not feel safe because of threats, report the abuse. You do not have to put up with it.

Thank you for sponsoring the memorial I made for Al

Happy to have helped. There were a couple more family members, I found they don't have memorials yet. I will add when I catch up or you can create them. I'm not a collector. Roselawn's online index works great for finding who's there and their location. Sincerely, Dale

Is there something you wanted me to do that I didn't do? I am unclear on your post.

Thank you for your message, however, I will not remove my statement of kinship to this ancestor. It is an important part of any genealogical process.
That said, am in the process of placing this statement at the bottom of each ancestor's Bio.
I sent you a couple transfer requests moments ago through the proper edit process, but I felt compelled to leave you a public message and to tell you what a great job you have done with the Hinamons and many others. Thanks for helping make this site better. I am new at this, but I'm sure trying to make it better. You work is inspiring.
All the best,

They do not have memorials. Please copy and paste that information into the bio section.
|Bud Winn||RE: Emely (Emily) Dorsey|
I did the transfer. In the future, please make all requests such as this via the Edit tab. Some members will ignore requests if not done via the Edit tab. :)

I don't know whether it was because of the message I sent to the administrator, or the message I sent this past Thursday to the individual who created the memorial for my great-grandfather, but today I logged on and found the memorial had been deleted. I know my last message to that person, which was very polite, made the man very angry as he sent me a nasty reply. No matter. I created a new memorial, including photos, etc. and linked it to parents, spouse, and children. Meanwhile, the administrator did transfer memorials for my great-aunt and her husband that had been created by an individual listed as "inactive." All's well that ends well.
I trust you're enjoying the holiday weekend.

Thanks for your sage counsel regarding the 1% who consider themselves either "laws unto themselves" or "temple guard dogs". One runs into those types everywhere, not just on Find A Grave. I had read the FAQs regarding transfers over the weekend and yesterday I sent an Email to the address provided by the administrators (info@), laying out the issue concerning my great-grandfather. It will be interesting to see if anything comes of it. As mentioned previously, I saw no reason to reply to the individual again. It did cross my mind that he (or she) didn't believe that anyone could be on here with a great-grandfather born in 1820. It's an unusual situation to be sure, but one that's well documented. Meanwhile, I have a raft of other relatives to create memorials for and the task to enhance those that I currently maintain. I'll let you know how I make out with the transfer issue. Best, Tom (I go by my middle name "Thomas")
