Bio

I'm a genealogy enthusiast, a Civil War & U.S. military history buff and have always had a fascination with cemeteries. I'm also a USAF veteran of the Persian Gulf War, a second generation hillbilly and recently commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel. Being a career NCO (former USAF Technical Sergeant), I occasionally struggle with this. However, the stripes usually win.

My current Find-A-Grave projects are locating graves and updating existing memorials for members of two of my great-great-grandfather's Civil War regiments (23rd Kentucky and 28th Ohio Infantries, both Union). I'm also very active at photographing Evergreen Cemetery in Southgate, Campbell County, Kentucky.

Most of my memorials are family, but I do enter military veterans and other graves that may catch my eye from time to time. If I have a memorial of a relative or friend of yours, send me a transfer request by way of a SAC. I don't follow FAG's transfer guidelines as if they were the Ten Commandments like some folks do. If you have ever refused to transfer the memorial of a relative or close friend to someone (simply because the guidelines say that "you don't have to") - shame on you. That's just plain mean. What a truly horrible person it takes to be selfish with the memory of someone's deceased friend or loved one.

Wikipedias definition of "guidelines":

A guideline is a statement by which to determine a course of action. A guideline aims to streamline particular processes according to a set routine or sound practice. By definition, following a guideline is never mandatory. Guidelines are not binding and are not enforced..

Please feel free to use my grave marker photos for your personal use. ½

NOTE TO EVERYONE ABOUT PHOTO REQUESTS
I always put some kind of note in the photo caption regarding the photo I took, usually the date and place taken. If there was no marker, I will take a photo of the lot (or lot marker, if available) and note it in the caption.
