Bio

I had been on findagrave for several years, but only became active when I found photos of family tombstones. I requested photos of my grandparents' graves in California and had my request answered within two weeks. I was so grateful that I became a volunteer myself.

I have been interested in genealogy since I took a course in the 1970s, but only became really active when I discovered all the wonderful Internet resources a few years into my retirement. (As all retirees know, retirement just means you don't get paid anymore for the work you do, but you get to choose your projects.) I guess I should describe myself as semi-retired. I still earn a pittance as a freelance writer/editor, and I lead small groups of adults in exercises to improve writing skills and clear writers' block. Many of these are people writing their memoirs or family histories.

I took a lot of tombstone photos in Blanco County, Texas in the summer of 2012. Most of these are people very distantly related or not related at all. If you see your family here, please inquire about a transfer. I would like to see all these families in the care of close relatives.
