Bio
Janice B. Tehie holds a Ph.D. in Educational Theory and Policy from the Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA. In May, 2006, she published a textbook on the history and philosophy of education, published by Prentice-Hall/Merrill Education.
She has taught at both St. Peter's College, Jersey City, NJ, and the Bradford PA campus of the University of Pittsburgh, in northwestern (rural) Pennsylvania.
She is also a certified paralegal and is currently pursuing her reading specialist certification at Widener University, Chester, PA. She intends to return to full-time teaching in the fall of 2013 in the field of developmental education and reading, preferably at the community college level. She has operated her own tutoring business for special-needs students since 2009 in order to help take care of her father, who is now 96 and suffering with vascular dementia.
With interests in history, philosophy, and genealogy, plus computers and technology, including digital photography, Find-A-Grave is a natural outlet.
