A native of Washington, DC, I have a PhD in Romance Languages from Princeton University (whose mascot is the tiger). I wrote my dissertation on Andre Breton. France is my second home and I often travel there. French cemeteries are very different from American ones. I have traveled to every continent (even Antarctica) except Australia. I enjoy visiting cemeteries and paying homage to the great souls who have made life beautiful.

I began by writing "famous bios" for Find A Grave while recuperating from a broken foot. Then I added memorials of my parents and parents-in-law. This opened the gates to an amazing set of new friends from around the world who have visited my family's sites and given me the opportunity of honoring their dear ones. The kindness, caring, generosity and concern of Find A Grave members have been extraordinary. I am especially grateful to Edda Meinikat for so generously sponsoring my mother's memorial as well as my mother-in-law's site. Three such lovely women would certainly have been friends had they known each other on Earth.
