Please use the SAC function (edit button on memorial) to request transfers, and be sure to let me know specifically how you are related.
I volunteer at Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, and am working on photo-documenting the whole cemetery. At this point, I prefer not to transfer memorials for this cemetery (other than mandatory transfers, of course) because my research is ongoing. In the meantime, please feel free to send me as much additional info as you wish via the edit button on the memorial.
NOTE: Obituaries are a wonderful source of information, but findagrave has rules about how they may be used. You can always glean facts from them for the bio. If they are out of copyright, or if you hold the copyright, you can transcribe them. Regardless of who has the copyright, you are not supposed to post them as a photograph - regardless of whether you scanned it, took a screen shot, or downloaded it from another website. Please feel free to send me obit text via the edit function, and I will use the info to add to the bio. Obits posted as photos will be removed, and it just ends up wasting your time.
RE: Charles Farquer, Memorial# 52292100 My documentation was from a genealogy page I came acrosssed. I only made the suggestion because of your note. I was actually quite hesitant on making the suggestion then decided to just let you know of the other date and let you decide.
Jennie Taylor You have requested a photo of the marker for Jennie Taylor to try to determine if it is a 'centopath'. I don't know what that is but if this helps, here is the group she is buried with at Highland Park: Dr. Walter Starnes Nash December 15 1865 - November 13 1943 Eva (Winter) wife of Dr. Walter Starnes Nash April 13 1863 - August 5 1953 Lois (Winter) Morrow September 4 1857 - May 8 1936 Jennie (Winter) Taylor October 29 1867 - February 8 1951 Faye Smith Palmer December 22 1902 - November 15 1949 James Ross Palmer November 17 1900 - December 26 1986
Cunningham and Mason Hi, thank you so much for sending the information on the burials in Section 17, Block 372, Lot 4, where my Cunningham and Mason relatives are. You have given me a lot to work with, and I really appreciate it. I do feel that Emily (Alford) Cunningham 159425739 is buried here, as it is my understanding that the Grizzle book contains headstone transcriptions (please correct me if I am wrong). The dates of birth and death that I put on Emily's memorial page come from Grizzle. My question for you, I am not clear on whether you compiled the information you sent me from cemetery office records, or did you walk out to the lot (either way, I appreciate the effort very much)? You said there is no record, do you mean no office record or no stone? If you went out and found no stone, I'll assume the stone Grizzle transcribed is no longer there and I'll take down the photo request. Thanks again, Amy
Ancestry tree As I said my ancestry tree is a little polluted right now as I use ancestry to find the people in my tree. I keep a paper tree and my sister keeps her own paper tree she independently researched. I am not sure the birthdates on simion are true but I did find a baptismal record for him listing them as his parents so someones birthday is wrong and since I didn't have access to the original documents only the transcripts I have to list what I have.I will pull out my paper tree and scan the copies I have to ancestry when I get time. I was working on another branch and havent added those to ancestry. This is why my tree is private until it is cleaned up and documents added.
Stumped Whew!I've had to take the 'scenic' route to find you. I can't seem to make any posts in the forum right now. Don't know if it's issues in their system, or mine. I don't want anyone to think that I would ignore them, especially when they take the time to help me with a problem. You suggested I make an unknown with the pic I'm needing help with, so you could enlarge it better to make out the carvings. I just put it with my grandmother's pictures on her memorial, if you're still interested in helping with it. Her's is memorial 159857673
RE: Martha Morrison You are so very welcome. I just discovered this website and knew I could help. I have started searching about the money and about getting the cemetery repaired. I am the care taker of the new Jefferson cemetery and it upsets me that the old cemetery is in such disrepair and no one seems to care. Have a great day and if I can be of any help in the future please let me know. Tammy
