Bio and Links
Bio Photo Please use the SAC function (edit button on memorial) to request transfers, and be sure to let me know specifically how you are related.

I volunteer at Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, and am working on photo-documenting the whole cemetery. At this point, I prefer not to transfer memorials for this cemetery (other than mandatory transfers, of course) because my research is ongoing. In the meantime, please feel free to send me as much additional info as you wish via the edit button on the memorial.

NOTE: Obituaries are a wonderful source of information, but findagrave has rules about how they may be used. You can always glean facts from them for the bio. If they are out of copyright, or if you hold the copyright, you can transcribe them. Regardless of who has the copyright, you are not supposed to post them as a photograph - regardless of whether you scanned it, took a screen shot, or downloaded it from another website. Please feel free to send me obit text via the edit function, and I will use the info to add to the bio. Obits posted as photos will be removed, and it just ends up wasting your time.

RE: Josephine Wood
The Bessie M - 8/1880 is apparently Dessie M. Wood/McKeown. If you want to type obit, I will remove it. I know about the rules, but wanted you to see it with the name of Hammett for Josephine, also the marriage record. She married him in 1903 and is still going by Hammett in 1915. I found a man names Alexander S. Hammett - he is buried in Dallas, Tx - dates seem correct, but hard to say that it is him.

RE: Corbin siblings, PS
Wow! You mean I am 75 years old and not even claimed as a child of my father and mother and won't be listed for 23 more years! (If I live as long as my aunts, etc,) You have to be dead to be listed as a child of your parents! Wierd! No, I did not know that! Funny they list you in the Obituary then!
Thank you for the tip, no need to try and even check people for any correct family facts!

RE: James Duren
I understand why you couldn't change the last name and I did see your explanation in the Bio. I appreciate you adding the link I requested and all the things you and others do for Find-A-Grave.

Moss - Buchannan Lot - Section 21
The photo you have for this lot is not the correct lot. Buried there are Burnley Marshall Moss, wife, Adelaide Frances Knott Moss, some of there children and Adelaide's parents. I posted a some views of the lot - see some of the linked relatives. Hans

Oakland
I have several relatives buried in Oakland in Section 11 Block 165 Lot 3. You have covered this, but I was wondering if you could provide me with a list of everyone you have record of in this lot (Bought by Jerry E. Johnson) and I could connect them for you.

RE: Eva (Schmidt) Mohney Colwell
You're quite welcome! I'm sorry that some of his sources in the book were somewhat sketchy, as he's usually very thorough in his work - but glad that some of it helped. Have a safe and Happy 4th!

The Price's Description Information Sources
Hello, I want to thank you for spending time on taking photos of my 2-great grandmother, great grandfather, and great aunt! I was wondering in the description that you had written. I was wondering how do you know that information. I knew the majority of the info put down, but desperately seeking as much info I can get on my great aunt #156660531 - Gertrude Kuder Price, 156659980 - Joseph Armand Price, and 156659773 - Mollie Price. Any info would be SUPER great, and any info on "Henry Price" my 2-great grandfather, also you may not but is there any source on Mollies madden name? I feel like she may have had a sister, or re-married. My dad says that all the info on Henry, (Germay's ancestry info) was burned or missing or something way in the past. But ANY HELP WILL BE GRATEFULLY APPRECIATED!

Harry Boggus
Find A Grave Memorial# 132114471

Thanks for getting back to me so soon. Thomas B. Boggus was a Justice of the Peace for the 1234th District G.M. at the time of his death apparently and a city official at various times, so there is every possibility that "Judge" Boggus was indeed Thomas B. Boggus. His age according to his son Thomas B., Jr. would have been 47, close enough to 50, and his father was buried in an unmarked grave in the Oakland Cemetery.

Thomas and Virginia had five children that I am aware of: (#1) Thomas B. Boggus, Jr who is buried in the same cemetery; (#2) Henry (Harry?) W. Boggus who was born ca 1859 per the 1860 and 1870 censuses (not in any census after 1870); (#3) Viola Boggus who died (apparently) sometime after 1904 and before the 1910 census (she was listed in several Atlanta City Directories from 1880 through 1905...boarding with her brother Thomas B. in the 1880s); (#4) James Arthur Boggus who is buried in the Hollywood Cemetery; and (#5) Ernest Hill Boggus who died in DeKalb Co. on June 14, 1943. I don't know where Ernest is buried, unfortunately.

I think Harry may well be Henry as I think the names were used interchangeably on occasion. If he is buried with them he is probably their son; plus the date of death and his age seem to match Henry's (Harry's).

Thanks.
