Many find a grave volunteers have worked very hard to provide the researchers burial locations and to provide pictures of headstones to help you in your personal research.

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE pictures that others have worked so hard to provide and add it to any other website as your own.

I don't mind you using my headstone photos as long as its a not-for-profit website, you give credit where you got the photos and who took the photo. Its only common courtesy.

Thank You for understanding and respecting the work of others.

Everyone dies. Some leave in great fanfare, while others may not even be mentioned in the obituary section of their local newspaper. Some may not have a stone to mark their grave. However, every death has a life behind it, a story, a history. Somehow, visiting a grave, while not telling a story, produces a feeling. You can feel history. Seeing the grave, the actual resting place of the dead, makes the life real and not just a story.

In the case of cemeteries, they are all different, all with a personality of their own. This may be just a matter of who is buried in a particular cemetery, or how they were buried. What creates a cemetery's personality is uncertain, but it is there.

Strangers In The Box
~Pamela A. Harazim

Come, look with me inside this drawer,
In this box I've often seen,
At the pictures, black and white,
Faces proud, still, serene.
I wish I knew the people,
These strangers in the box.

Their names and all their memories
Are lost among my socks.
I wonder what their lives were like,
How did they spend their days?
What about their special times?
I'll never know their ways.

If only someone had taken time
To tell who, what, where, or when,
These faces of my heritage
Would come to life again.

Could this become the fate
Of the pictures we take today?
The faces and the memories
Someday to be passed away?

Make time to save your stories,
Seize the opportunity when it knocks,
Or someday you and yours could be
The strangers in the box.
