Seven Sisters (Family Cemetery)

Duval County
Texas USA

How to get there?
Cemetery notes and/or description:
This Cemetery is on the old Homestead of Mariano and Sarah Rodriguez. They raised 8 children there, some are buried here at this cemetery.

Off Highway 59, exit on 2359 and go approx 1 mile to co rd 405, turn and go about 1.3 miles. cemetery is on a drive on your right hand side.

Off the Beaten path in Seven Sisters, Tx

Atascosa County, Texas - we have four cemeteries in Poteet,Texas. The one on Hwy 16 there where my Dad and Mom and my older brother and my dad sister are buried and a brother in Frio County. Their is another one off 16 before you enter Poteet,Tx off Ditto Road turn left then you see one cemetery to left..dirt rd..but their is another one on right..White cemetery. This town had a cemetery for the Mexican (Hispanic) and White. That the was it was way back in the day.
The other cemetery is off Hwy 16 as you going south out of town and don't remember the name of RD. It's the last turn on a dirt rd to right..after you pass all the building and close or open restaurants. If you pass the V RD you see on left..gone to far..I think their is Miller building or use to be don't remember.
Hope this help you find what ever you looking for..What family tree do you come from on the Rodriguez side. Are you related to anyone in Freer,Poteet,San Antonio,Lockhart,Pleasanton,Texas

If you have any question- call me @404-867-0420
Thank You

RE: Uvalde Cemetery
Thanks Maria,
I am interested in 8 people in the Acree family, 3 by the name of Acree, 1 by the name of Oldham, 2 by the name of Sturm, and 2 by the name of King. All of them lived and died in Uvalde, but I don't have any death certificates. I do have one obituary that says burial will be in the Uvalde Cemetery, but I don't feel comfortable creating a memorial from that alone. I have sent an email to the City of Uvalde asking about the cemetery and the contact person in hopes that there might be some help there. If you wish, I will be glad to send you a list with names and dates, perhaps by email, before you go to Uvalde. I have done Find A Grave searches for all Uvalde cemeteries with no results. I am not in any hurry here, please don't do anything "special."

Uvalde Cemetery
Hi Maria,
I noticed that you have posted a photo on the Uvalde Cemetery page and I'm wondering if you perhaps live close to the Uvalde Cemetery. I am researching a family (Acree, Sturm, Oldham), many of whom I believe are buried in the cemetery, but none apparently have Find A Grave memorials. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

RE: Re: Jose' s h/s request
The # you provided didnt help. It is a church. She said to call Joel Padilla, who owns a Funeral Home. But didnt offer to get the # for me. I tried to look him up online but nothing. Any help you can offer is welcome.

Jose Contreras Salinas
Hi Maria,
Jose was only 20 when he was killed in Vietnam. I have been trying to get a photo of his stone for some time now. I noticed that you have taken many photos in Savala County and wondered if you would be willing to get a photo for me. His Find A Grave # is 76201835. He is buried at the Benita Juarez Cemetery.
Thank you for all your wonderful findagrave contributions.
I am not in a hurry, but please let me know if you are willing.

RE: Santa Rosalia Cemetery
I am sorry that I do not have the history of this cemetery. I did photograph the readable headstones a couple of years ago and put on findagrave. I also added a number of obits and death certs.
I would guess that the cemetery is closed to new burials. There is not really a caretaker for it and it is located in a no mans land between the border fence and the river (and Mexico).
You may try contacting Gene Fernandez at the Old City Cemetery Museum. He is not in charge of Santa Rosalia but if anyone can find contacts or info he would be the best place to start. His # is 956-455-5452.
Good Luck hunting,
David Parsons

RE: Santa Rosalia Cemetery,
Maria, My apologies if I haven't answered you, As far as Cemetery Santa Rosalia, I don't believe it's a private cemetery, May of my family members / ancestors are buried there, very sad the condition it is in,but very happy to finally pay my respects after so many years.
