Bio

I am a proud native Texan, army veteran and employee at a school for disabled children. I'm also the son of a English lit. professor and a UT Center of American History archivist at Austin. I am descended from everyone from Mayflower pilgrims, Saxon kings, French voyageurs, humble farmers and Algonquin Indians. I served in Germany in the last couple years of the Cold War. I was deployed with the 18th Airborne in the '89 Invasion of Panama.

I have been interested in factual genealogy, American and Texas history since I was a child. I have assisted on
several Texas history books, web articles and documentary films, but mainly on the Texas rangers. I believe
in tracking down primary and contemporary material in local, state and federal archives, not just posting old derivative data from books, newspapers, databases like Ancestry.com and personal genealogy sites. These places are sometimes rife with mistakes and family lore. Presently, I'm assisting some Texas author-historians.

If you have accurate and respectful suggestions or changes for my humble memorials, enter them in the edit feature per findagrave rules or please PM me. Thank you.
