I discovered Find A Grave while searching for the grave of my grandfather's brother. This simple little search sent me on a mission to search for my ancestors and get some of my family history on Find A Grave. Once I got hooked on genealogy, I decided I could help others by adding names to the site so that sent me onto my new "hobby" - photographing graves, and now I am totally addicted. I hope my work on Find A Grave will help others in their search or allow them to "visit" a loved one's grave. |
I'm not one of those people who think they give a prize for managing the most memorials. If you have any connection to someone that I have created a memorial for, I will gladly transfer it, as long as they are not in my tree.
The Bismarck Tribune did a very nice article on my cemetery project a while back. Click Here to view the article.
In April 2016 they did another article. Click Here to view the article.
I have set up a Tribalpages family tree. Click on the link below to view it.
If I have taken a photograph of your ancestor's tombstone and it is of poor quality (shadows/overgrown with grass/hard to read/etc), please let me know and I will see what I can do about taking a better one. It is hard to take good photographs of all the markers when I am at a cemetery as the angle of the sun is often poor the stones don't photograph well.
If I have helped you in your search, please return the favor and "pay it forward" and do your part to help out someone else.

It's me again Brian...you have been so helpful....I am taking advantage I am afraid..... Johanna Augusta Rautenberg's mother..Wilhelmine Klawitter came with Johanna and Julius to America -St Paul- then to Bismark ND.....she died there--but we have no date.....We think somewhere from 1894--1897. She lived with Johanna and her family...No record at Fairview Cemetery or St. Mary's Cemetery.....However...Wilhelmine's son (Johanna's brother) Fred Klawitter (long time resident) purchased a plot-SW1/4 (graves 7-8 ) Lot 1 Block 1 Original Plat at Fairview Cemetery..... there is no record of anyone buried there on file...but I am questioning whether his mother might be buried there........Fred and his family are all buried at StMary's Catholic Cemetery in Bismark......I am questioning why anyone, especially at those times would buy a cemetery plot and not use it........Cathy Brunt

Thank you so much for the obituary information....I don't think the family had much money for an additional memorial....their farm had to be sold to pay off their debts and the girls moved to Canada to be near their older brother... Cathy Brunt
|Rachel Whitaker||Thank you :)|
I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to take a photo of Johanna and Albert Rickert's grave/headstone and for posting it on here. :)

Thanks for the wonderful memorial for Herb. I lived in Mohall, ND when he was teaching at Mohall. He was a highly respected educator in that town. Thanks for the memory of him.
