Hello everyone, my name is David. After more than 10 years as just "David," I decided to change my public name, as I am a perplexed historian. I may go back to David, but for now I am enjoying the change. I am a professor of history and have always loved to research my family history, and to pay tribute to my lost loved ones. Find A Grave is a great way to keep your family history alive. Please check out the memorials for my three departed grandparents. Marian L. Seymour (1915-2001) My beloved grandmother meant the world to me and I am glad she has this tribute, and My two grandfathers Harold H. Seymour (1913-1997), and Raymond Dominic Stallone (1910-1993). Also check out the tribute to my Great Aunt because I made her a promise she would never be forgotten Pauline Burke (1922-2003).|
2012, took from me one of my favorite people on the face of the earth, my Gretel. Gretel was the best friend of my Oma(grandmother). Gretel along with four other women constituted my favorite people on the face of the earth. I called them my hummingbirds as they fled their homes in Germany following World War II and created a friendship which formed a family. I thought of these women as superheroes and never thought I would lose one.
Gretel Dzierla (1927-2012).
Please visit the memorial of my good friend Marilyn:
Marilyn Borden (1932-2009).
Please leave me a message if you want to contact me, I no longer will give out my personal e-mail as they are never positive e-mails only complaints. I cannot help on famous memorials I have added, but if you feel you are a relative of mine or you have info I am lacking in one of my memorials, please feel free to leave a message.
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE ANY OF MY PHOTOS AND POST THEM ON OTHER WEB PAGES LIKE ANCESTRY.COM WITHOUT PERMISSION. I HAVE SPENT YEARS FINDING THEM AND WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF YOU RESPECT MY WISHES. THANK YOU.

That does make sense. Thanks!
|mpgenroots||update Maureen O'Hara #16711793|
Just to let you know Find-A-Grave declined my edit to link her to her parents. This is the e-mail I received from them:
"This is an automated email letting you know that your recent edit for the Maureen O'Hara (1920 - 2015) Find A Grave memorial has been declined.
General reason: No change. The memorial is up to date with submitted edit." I don't understand the answer but I tried! Thanks again.

I noted an interest in finding her parents' memorials: Charles Fitzsimmons #154355687 and Marguerite Fitzsimmons #154355758. I found them while researching her sister Margot Edwards (after viewing an old "This is Your Life" video). I sent an edit to Find-A-Grave to link her to them. Thanks for creating her memorial, it's beautiful.
|Ted Thiel||My Dad|
Hi David, this is Ted Thiel (Herman the 3rd), Marilyn's step son. I now live up here in Sac, with my daughter Shawna. She told me that you might still have some of my dad's stuff. But I'm writing to you to see if you can do me a favor. I want to honor my dad on Veterans day by writing a little something about him, on my Facebook page with my Newark High friends who knew him somewhat. I also want to post a couple of pictures of my dad. One of them was in his Navy uniform, the other is him wearing that red, white and blue blazer. A few years ago I did, but my external hard drive took a nosedive along with my laptop. I just wanna know if you can email me them two pictures. Also, do you still have anymore boxes of my dad's belongings. Oh thank you very, very much for getting my dad's ashes, so they remain in the family. Take care and have a nice day.

I think you did a great job on Maureen O'Hara's bio. Do you know where her parents are buried?

Thanks for your thoughtful bio for Ms. O'Hara. I visited Charles Blair's grave at ANC several years ago and wanted to mention that he is located very near to JFK's grave. The Tourmobile has a drop off/pickup stop nearby. If the folks running the tour are their usual proactive selves, the burial site will no doubt be included in the tour.
Again, thanks for the memorial tribute.

Hi David, thanks for making such a wonderful memorial for this iconic lady. One suggestion, on her husband's memorial, Gen. Charle Blair, is wonderful picture of the two of them in the cockpit of an airliner he was flying. I think it would be fitting to add that picture to her's as well. After all, it was he who finally brought her true happiness.
I think you are a very interesting historian. I wish I could have known the Hummingbirds, Gretel and Pauline.
I will keep reading and enjoying your lists.
Thank you, David.
