Bio and Links
I retired a couple of years ago and became curious about my ancestry. I remember my mother always talking about her relatives but we lived in another state and I didn't know many of them.
I started searching the relatives I knew in WV and I was very impressed at the strength and perseverance of my ancestors. I would have loved to have met many of them especially immigrants like my G----Grfather Charles Rogers.

RE: Perry Connolly
4 1/2 years behind Perry, and maybe James was picked on by Perry as a kid, plus sibling rivalry. It was a clash of Irish giants...Perry was supposedly 6'3" and 240 and James was 6'5" and 250.

James Connolly
Perry Connolly
Birth: 1840
Death: 1916 [Edit Dates]

Shortly after the skirmish at Arnoldsburg on May 5,
there occurred one of the brother-against-brother
tragedies that haunted families for years after
the war.

Colonel Anas Ansal marched a company of Union Home Guards to Sutton shortly after the town was burned looking for bushwhackers loyal to the Southern cause. Part of the company was sent to Laurel Creek and the rest to Birch River.

Lieutenant James P. Conley(Connolly)was a member of the group and his brother,Perry Conley, was one of the guerrilla leaders. The guerrillas were located, and in a hand to
hand conflict, James killed his brother Perry.

You are welcome. I am back to searching for photos of the children of Newt and Tincey Myers and their families. Its a struggle but I'm persistent...with all those children, someone has to have photos :) I will share them if I find any.
