A thankful heart is not only the greatest virtue, but the parent of all other virtues.
~Cicero
Please visit the memorial of my geologist husband Kevin Horstman and my mother Jane Coffman Hoag, now gone 20 years. This kind "country" doctor Dr. Charles Rosco Farabee would appreciate some flowers too if you have the time.

Biggest Joys about Findagrave:
--Traveling to cemeteries and photographing grave markers;
--Personal satisfaction when my entries are researched, entered correctly, and nicely presented;
--Discovering burial and genealogy info on my own extended family;
--Helping others in their research; and
--Connecting with other Findagravers.

Biggest Headaches about Findagrave:
--Duplicate entries made by those who don't take time to perform a general search;
--Folks who don't do anything with the memorial after it has been transferred, and
--Multiple marriage names entered in surname field (Yes, I know FAG now allows this, but pls just put legal name at time of death and explain other married names in bio or by links).

Thanks to all out there who:
--are helpful, enthusiastic, and courteous to other volunteers,
--send me corrections, obits, links, and other information to add to my entries,
--check their own work,
--keep up with edits, corrections, and suggestions from other contributors,
--type in the marker inscriptions to assist the visually impaired and those of us with aging eyes who cannot easily read the photo images,
--add gender where known (to import seamlessly into Ancestry.com and other genealogy software programs),
--add Veteran status to honor those who have served their country,
--add a flower or otherwise personalize a memorial before they ask for a transfer, and
--provide newspaper or website citations for obits so others can use this info.

I consider transfers to remote family members as long as I'm not a relative or have a special connection to the individual. I'm honored to manage the memorials of my great-uncle Larry Aichele's (deceased), mining history acquaintance Q.E.P.D, and those at Evergreen Cemetery in Tucson created by fellow contributors Bob and Sue.
