Gaius Paddock Wood

I noticed that you left flowers for your great Uncle Gaius. Who is your descendant? It seems that we are related.

His gravestone year is incorrect. He was born in 1799. His mother, Salome, died 11 July 1799 when Gaius was 4 months old. It is also recorded in the Wood Genealogy that I received from the Vermont Historical Society as 1799, and also in "The First Medical College in Vermont 1818-1862, Castleton by Frederick Clayton Waite 1949. Catalogue of Graduates, Page 237: "Gaius Paddock Wood 1824 Sherburne, born 3-8-1799, died Washington, Illinois 1871".

I'm still searching for his wife, Elizabeth C. French's parents. Gaius and Elizabeth were married January 1828 in Woodstock, Windsor Co., Vermont. I have a copy of their marriage record.

Bill McKern
RE: Roger Enos Greenmont Cemetery;view=1up;seq=445

From 1901's "Arnold's Expedition to Quebec", by John Codman. This illustration was in a special 1903 edition of Codman's book which was published for William Abbatt in 1903, and appears after page 350. The illustration is based on a portrait owned by Franklin Hatch of Springfield, Illinois, the great-grandson of Roger Enos.

Here's the source for the Roger Enos illustration, and some details for context. This image is certainly in the public domain because it was published so long ago the copyright expired. I'm sure there are no restrictions on making use of it.

I have no problem with you using my photo's on your ancestry tree. I take photo's to help others find their ancestors and I am very happy when they do :)

Hi Joe,

It was my pleasure to take the photos.
I too am a member of GANS but haven't made it to any of their lectures yet. I have been considering getting more involved with GANS but haven't decided yet. They have a few volunteer opportunities available.
Also I am a member of and have a public tree available for all to see. My username there is GLENN7038.
Feel free to use any of my photos on your Ancestry tree.
Many of my photos are already on Ancestry.
