This is a poem that I stumbled upon (author unknown):

Always a silent hurt,
many a silent tear,
but always a beautiful memory
of one we loved so dear.

God gave us strength to bear it,
and courage to take the blow,
but what it meant to lose you one will ever know.

I was born and raised in Norfolk, VA. I've lived in FL, NY, CA, WA, and OR.

I found Find A Grave by accident. It has become one of my favorite sites to visit. It has given me a place that I can remember my mother and my sister Sandy and honor their memory right from my desk. Thank you Find A Grave.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16

Strangers in the Box
By Pamela A. Harazim

Come, look with me inside this drawer,
In this box I've often seen,
At the pictures, black and white,
Faces proud, still, serene.
I wish I knew the people,
These strangers in the box,
Their names and all their memories
Are lost among my socks.
I wonder what their lives were like.
How did they spend their days?
What about their special times?
I'll never know their ways.
If only someone had taken time
To tell who, what, where, when,
These faces of my heritage
Would come to life again.
Could this become the fate
Of the pictures we take today?
The faces and the memories
Someday to be tossed away?
Make time to save your pictures,
Seize the opportunity when it knocks,
Or someday you and yours could be
The strangers in the box.

"If you could see your ancestors
All standing in a row,
There might be some of them, perhaps,
You wouldn't want to know.

But, here's another question, which
Requires another view,
If you could meet your ancestors,
Would they be proud of you?"

Emma Neal, née Rice: FAG Memorial# 30969811
Dear Neil:

On 06 Apr 14 you were kind enough to leave a floral tribute on the memorial of my GGM, Emma Neal née Rice, Find A Grave Memorial# 30969811. My profound thanks for your remembrance of her.

However, I would like to inquire as to whether you might be related to Emma, and therefore to me?

I look forward to your reply.

May God bless you,
George Paul

RE: Kenneth Baker's online memorial
Hi Kenneth,

No problem, I was happy to help. I'm down at the cemetery quite often since my parents, grand-parents and some aunts and uncles are buried down there. I like to help people out so if I can be of any further assistance please let me know. I hope this was helpful!

God bless you!

Thomas J Tittle info
I would like you to correct my great grandma's info. She was Sarah Emma Potterf from Raymond, IL NOT Reynolds IL and the f is missing above in the paragrah. Below in the list of children she is correct. Thanks so much She is buried in Ashbury Cemetery in Raymond IL and I think it is on findagrave. Jeanne Meek

Cap Nathaniel Wells & 2 additions
Am glad you added the information. I think some one may be looking for these people -- especially Susan Wells who died at age 82. I don't think I have an ancestor buried here, but visited the cemetery in 1992 when doing my Andrews- Burnham research. I love these old stones. You and other volunteers for this cemetery do a great job. Thank you.
