Bio and Links
Bio Photo Since Las Vegas is a relatively young city, most of the cemeteries in the valley are less than 50 years old. I am currently concentrating my efforts on Palm Valley View Memorial Park, a large, beautiful cemetery that straddles the border of Las Vegas and Henderson.

I believe that the history of any community is comprised of the stories of each and every one of its inhabitants. It is immaterial whether the person was the city's mayor or a dishwasher; every piece of this human mosaic is an integral part of the historical perspective. I am committed to preserving this history by creating entries that include a bio along with the photo of the person's headstone or marker. I hope that my efforts will eventually become a valuable resource for those who are exploring the history of the Las Vegas Valley, as well as for those who are researching their personal family histories.

When creating a memorial entry, I usually start with a photo of the headstone. I then attempt to find obituaries or news stories related to the person's life. The online archives of the local paper only go back to 1991, however, so often I come up empty-handed. Whatever info I can find goes into creating the memorial entry. (Note: I have obtained permission from both of my local newspapers to use published obituaries as long as I attribute the source).

I consider my entries to be "works in progress" and welcome any suggestions that you might have that will enhance an entry. However, I appreciate your patience while waiting for me to respond. Due to the high volume of entries that I have created to date, I receive several letters a day suggesting changes or requesting management transfers. I respond as promptly as I am able. After 30 days, if you haven't received a response from me please contact me again - it's possible that your request fell through the cracks somehow.
I work in a cyclical business (the convention industry) and there are times when I am required to work as much as 60 hours a week. I catch up on the SACs I receive once things return to normal at work.

Please hesitate before trying to cultivate a critical or malicious environment here because of a perceived slight. No slight is ever intended.

I do not adhere strictly to Find-A-Grave's transfer criteria. Any reasonable request will be considered. However, please determine whether you really need to manage an entry before you make a transfer request. For example, one does not need to manage every entry of a particular surname; the virtual cemetery feature allows one to keep track of these sorts of entries.

I will not respond to transfer requests posted on this page. Please follow the proper transfer request procedures so that I receive an email containing links to the memorials you would like to manage.

If you are requesting that I add additional information, please reference the source from which the info was obtained(Veterans Administration records, obituaries, Social Security Death Index, census records, family records, etc.). I strive to make my entries as accurate and inclusive as possible. If I add suggested info into an entry that I manage, I will reference the source. Please do not ask me to add info that is not verifiable. Example: a contributor recently asked me to link two people as married simply because they were interred in the same crypt. Research revealed that they were actually mother and son, not husband and wife.

Please do not submit bios or obituaries that sensationalize the tragic circumstances of a person's passing. I do not believe these lurid and violent details belong on this web site.

I decline to give permission to use my photos for resale, for profit, or to upload to a different web site.

Margaret Chairsell
Hi, please excuse my former message. It was William's wife you added, and I am sending the message to the person who has duplicated her husband. Sorry. You did a wonderful memorial for her. Thanks.

Margaret Chairsell
Hi, I am linking the Chairsell family members, and discovered your addition of Margaret Chairsell. Her husband William S. Chairsell, Jr. is also buried there. Another person added William to find a grave, so I will let that be between the two of you, but the other one's Find A Grave# is 8931345. Yours is more complete, and I am still in the process of linking all the family members. The ones I started with are in Birmingham, Alabama in Elmwood Cemetery. I came across their graves before Christmas while we were placing flowers on my mother in laws grave. Good job you are doing on here, and thanks. PS you Find A Grave# on William is #96554980.

Tim, I know that you created the memorial for Bruce J. Dunkin, would it be possible for you to add his wife Norma Choate Dunkin who is buried next to him at Woodlawn in Las Vegas. It would be greatly appreciated. Vickie

James Edward Wilson
Emily Elida Grover nee Wilson
My grandfather, Francis Patrick Wilson was the eldest brother of Emily Elida Wilson. All of his siblings were born in Ontaario, Canada. At the moment, I am
trying to see what the relationship was between Marquerite Sally Ann Shoemaker nee Macho. Sally Ann
was the daughter of: Kendall Bernard Macho and
Phyllis Juanita Grover
Sally Ann Macho was born 27 - October - 1935 and
passed on 06 / December / 1994. The last time that
I saw Sally Ann, her husband and her parents, was a few days after
their wedding. I was touring with a vocal group and
happened to be driving to the St. Paul area and I
thought that it would be a great idea to see the
Macho Family. They had visited us in Chicago twice
that I can recall and I always enjoyed their company.
Unfortunately, this was my last meeting with this
family. My father Francis Patrick Jr. passed in
1963 and we lost contact with the Macho Family. I am two years younger than Sally Ann and it was only yesterday, that I went on line and discovered that
the two generations that I had known very briefly,
are now deceased. I hope to continue my research
on my great Aunt Emily Elida Wilson's Family.
Gratefully,
James Edward Wilson

I am the daughter of Dolores. I am also the one who created her memorial page and added pictures. Would you please tell me how you came to take over my mother's page?
