Cottle's in McDade Hello Curtis, I am not sure if you are familiar with McDade Cottle history, if you are perhaps you can help determine how my grandfather Wilbur Cottle is related to George Osborn Cottle. They are both buried in McDade Cemetery. Take a look at their birth and death dates. Very odd. Thanks,
Buffalo Cemetery Hi Curtis, I am wondering if the cemetery you took a picture for is the one Hwy 152 between Sweetwater and Sayre, OK. I was there and have an uncle buried there. The picture is the same as the one you posted for Buffalo Cemetery in Sayre, Beckham Co. There is another listing for Buffalo Cemetery in Roger Mills Co. that has NO burials. Do you know if there are two cemeteries by the same name? Looking at Google maps, the one I went to IS IN Beckham Co. Thanks so much. Carol
Jemima Mima Davis Erwin Curtis, Mima was the sister to my Great Grandfather Martin Van Buren Davis, the first child of Jonathan Patrick Jr and Mary Ann Eggleston. Martin married Sarah Erwin. I am currently researching Jonathan Patrick Sr. and Frances Ross. Do you know where Jonathan Sr. is buried?
Sam Houston Mundine Hi Curtis, I am Titus Mundine's granddaughter. When I was 12 years old, I was visiting Aunt Annie and Aunt Birdie in Elgin, and copied the following letter written to Aunt Annie by Lily Mundine Hays, daughter of William Howard Mundine, and Laura Alice Mundine. Enjoy. -Shirley Johnson
I believe you are Annie.
We enjoyed the day so much. I feel it is a rare opportunity for all of us to get together and build a better knowledge of each other.
I must tell you before writing more, I can't spell. I cannot get the sound of the word. When I was younger I had my dictionary beside me and looked up words. Later, after my husband was home I depended on him to spell for me. Now I hope one can guess what I mean.
About forty years age, or longer, Uncle Charley and Aunt Lidy, Aunt Net and Uncle Will, Mother and my step-father Mr. McCullough, and Horace spent the day at the Mundine cemetary, and put the fence up that is there. I believe Aunt Mary and Bennie and Hallie were there, that I am not sure. I was there with my two children. They were very small and it seems so long ago.
We children called our grandparents by first name as on both sides they were Mundine. Grandpa Titus was Senator of Texas when Sam Houston was president of Texas, and he went to the home of Grandpa Titus and Grandma Catherine and their baby was in the cradle. He asked them what the baby was named. They said "We have not named him yet." The president took him up out of the cradle and said, "Well, I will give him my name. He is named 'Sam Houston' by me."
I am sure his mother and father felt great pride in what he, the president, had done, for I felt that mother showed, in telling it, a great pride.
I liked one week being a year old when my father died. I went to Aunt Cornelia and Grandma Catherine's funeral. Can just remember them.
Hope all of you are feeling fine. You will find a check for twenty-five dollars enclosed to help in any way on the cemetary.

Clem Edwards Hi, Curtis ~ I'm interested to add your knowledge about Clem H Edwards to what very little I know. His first wife, Mary Dicy Taylor Edwards, was my grandmother's sister. Since your father's half-brother was an Edwards, you are probably related to Clem. I'll look forward to hearing more. Thanks. Mary Caye
Holl9man Cemetery name Craig, was wondering if the common name for the Holliman Cemetery where you have a number of memorial related to my family members is Holliman or Eagle. Our family has always called it the Eagle Cemetery. Thanks... Rick Plant (Tyler descendant)
Erwin family Curtis, I just found the listings for some of the children of William Cathey and Sarah Walker Erwin in Bastrop Co. TX. I was delighted to find them but wondering if you know where William and Sarah are buried?
Also I see you have Sam Mudine listed as Sam Howard Mundine, which is what was on his death certificate. His real name was Sam Houston Mundine. The story goes that Sam's dad Titus Howard Mundine was a friend of Sam Houston & that when Sam came to visit Titus & saw the newborn he asked Titus to name the baby after him, which he did.
And finally could you please add the following parents link for Annie Mary Mundine Clark (#7489805): father: Sam Howard Mundine - #8862132 mother: Annie Mary DeLap - #54143976 Thanks again!! Texrose
