Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Suzy Ward Fleming and I live in Norfolk Virginia and am happy to add Memorial Pictures for your loved ones in my area. I transfer direct family members according to Find A Grave guidelines only. Please submit any transfer requests, additions, corrections, biographies, or family links to me under "EDIT" and "SUGGEST A CORRECTION" on the memorial site.
Please note at this time I am doing NO transfers from Cedar Grove or Elmwood-I am working on family research (linking family) with a friend Tim Bonney and going lot to lot with another friend Donna Bluemink to make sure every grave is recorded and all pictures are taken. This is the second year on a two year project.
My family names are Ward, Angle, Lindsey, Warren, Coleman, Yeaman, Richardson,Dowdy and Stickley.
My husband's family is Fleming and Grable
"Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near; still loved, still missed and very dear."

To quote Abraham Lincoln "And in the end, its not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years."
"Life should not be just a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming woo hoo what a ride!"

Laura J Bishop #47017914
You asked me to 'add obit' for Mrs Laura.....
The Laura that I created (and it could be wrong) was for a daughter born and died before being old enough to have been married. Perhaps the one I found is the one in your obit... different middle initials too..... could you possibly confirm that the obit is for the Laura in the cemetery and that there is not another Laura, related to William & Lenora Bishop..... appreciate all your hard work!!

The Norfolk Landmark, Sun., April 21, 1895
The funeral of Mrs. Laura I. Bishop took place yesterday morning from the residence of her brother in law, Mr. James P. Farren, on Bermuda Street, and was conducted by the Rev. Father Doherty. Interment in Elmwood Cemetery.

Transfer and a big thank you
Viola Perrell # 53982896
I am sorry it has taken me so long to thank you. I lost/misplaced the information I had gathered about her...then could not remember her and why I had asked for her transfer...all corrected now...
She is in fact;
Viola Price Ackers Perrell
With you help she has been "reunited" with her second husband and one of her three daughters. I have added photos, including one that pictures her upon her entry to an orphanage.
With appreciation,

John Richard Knewstep stone
Hello from another Richardson descendant. I am wondering, since John Richard Knewstep was apparently the son of Elizabeth RICHARDSON, whether, in your current research at CEDAR GROVE, you might be able to at least READ any part and/or percance do a RUBBING of his Stone, which seems to have a good bit of information. If my calculations are right, he married my 2nd great grandfather Garrett's sister .... in James City County, VA (across the "Roads", as it were). Any help deciphering his headstone inscription just might shed a good deal of light for both you and me! Thanks so much for photgraphing his Stone to begin with..... if I am right in my research, there is a really interesting story about this! Thanks so much! susrod
