Bio and Links
Bio Photo I retired in 2001 after 31 years as an agent with the U.S. Border Patrol and USINS. I also then worked two years on a contract with DHS. I have been active in cemetery research in Clay County, MO, for a number of years. I have also enjoyed doing research to locate the graves of some of the Medal of Honor recipients whose graves were never marked, or who never received the recognition due them.

Anyone may use any of my photos from Find A Grave for their own historical research. If you need one of my memorials transferred to you, let me know.

Lately, I have been trying to track down the graves of the men of the 4th Iowa Cavalry. I have met some very helpful members, and thank them for everything they have done to help me.

William Kooi
Kooi family
Kent,

My name is William Kooi. I'm a great-grandson of Willem and Everdina Kooi. My dad is also William Kooi, and his father was also William (Will -- Willem and Everdina's son). I've been working through a copy of the family history compiled by Muriel Kooi in 1980, and ran across several of your entries here. Would love to hear from you and figure out the relationship, and also to know what other treasures you may have turned up about our family. I hesitate to put my email address here since this will be a public message, but if you contact me via find-a-grave, we'll figure out a way.

Thanks for getting the photograph.

Since Christmas I have been under the weather with the flu and not able to get out.

So I am working on my wifes family, the Eldridge line, and realized there was no picture on the Find a Grave page.

Thanks again for your help and have a Nice Year

Harry Waring
Dear Kent
Today I was able to take a photo of Harry Waring's name plate. I also took a larger more inclusive picture of the area. Would you like me to post it on his memorial, email it to you or not post at all. Please let me know.
take care

Nathan A. Flanders
I found another memorial for Nathan A. Flanders #8948185. His first wife and son Nathan are buried with same stone. Hopkirk Cemetery, Jefferson County Iowa. The person probably thinks he is buried there but no stone. I will let you figure this out. My memorial #120314763.

RE: Sgt Gillham's DOB
Hi, I will try to find the obit for you. The small library in Westcliffe has all the old newspapers on microfilm so will do a search and let you know in a few weeks. Linda

RE: Sgt Gillham's DOB
Hi, my information source is from burial records for the Silvercliff cemetery located at the West Custer County Library. I plan to search obituaries there this winter so sure I will find more confusing dates. If you wish, I can check for Mr. Gilham's obit much sooner let me know and I will try.
