I retired in 2001 after 31 years as an agent with the U.S. Border Patrol and USINS. I also then worked two years on a contract with DHS. I have been active in cemetery research in Clay County, MO, for a number of years. I have also enjoyed doing research to locate the graves of some of the Medal of Honor recipients whose graves were never marked, or who never received the recognition due them.|
Anyone may use any of my photos from Find A Grave for their own historical research. If you need one of my memorials transferred to you, let me know.
Lately, I have been trying to track down the graves of the men of the 4th Iowa Cavalry. I have met some very helpful members, and thank them for everything they have done to help me.

Hi, my information source is from burial records for the Silvercliff cemetery located at the West Custer County Library. I plan to search obituaries there this winter so sure I will find more confusing dates. If you wish, I can check for Mr. Gilham's obit much sooner let me know and I will try.

Thank you, to info, will change dates in my Ancestry.

Thank you for all of your hard work. I know because I used to be able to go to cemeteries here in SE Iowa. You have a memorial for John W. Whitmore, his marker says he died in 1918'. , not 1913 as the memorial reads.

Oh, I didn't see the Graveyard photo - but now I do. That's sad, isn't it? Thank you for your reply. You have been very helpful. I hope I can go there one day and see it for myself. Best, Cindy

I would be grateful if you have any other photos from the Hodges cemetery. I know that the parents of Louisiana Lingenfelter Hodges are buried there as well. Their names are George Bernhardt LINGENFELTER and Nancy York LINGENFELTER.
Thank you so much for your help. Best, Cindy

I want to thank you so very much for the photos of William V Hodges and his wife Louisiana's headstones in the Hodges cemetery. William V Hodges is my 3rd Great Grandfather - I am descended from his youngest son, Francis (Frank) Hodges. I greatly appreciate being able to see these photos. Very kind of you! Thanks again, Cindy

Hi Kent, just wanted to let you know I went to the cemetery last week. Family reunion in Weston. Amanda from the mill site probably told you. A little overgrown but I broke it down some.
Really cool and I got some good pictures of ggggf grave. It is neat that the Watkins family was his neighbors, etc.
I am coming back this fall or next spring. Want to go see the old house site with you guys. Sincerely, Eli

Thank you for your kindness, and all of your good work. Now I can put the duplicate information on one and create a memorial for his wife Glisa. Jenifer
