Welcome - |
We are doing a holy service by remembering the dead, and preserving history.
I think we all have a piece of the puzzle and if everyone contributes, questions will be answered.
please note - FINDAGRAVE as the name implies is a grave registration site and NOT a genealogy site. Although it can be very useful for genealogy.
This a wonderful site for remembering people. Peoples lives are fascinating and they deserve to be remembered and documented.
Please remember we are not just entering names or stones, but real people. Please ask yourself if your memorial is search-able. All memorials should have last names. Women who never marry, and children don't have maiden names. There is no maiden name unless the name changes. Also please do not use ().
Please do NOT create duplicates.
If you notice any mistakes, please let me know, and I will be happy to fix them. Nobody is perfect, we are all fallible human beings mostly doing the best we can at the moment.
We are merely stewards of 'our' memorials - we manage them and are entrusted with their care and maintenance, but we do not technically 'own' them.
Please read the FAQs (frequently asked questions). Thanks, and please try to resolved unknown burials ASAP.
Please free to use any of my photos with appropriate citations. Will also add updates, -the more info, the better. I don't have a policy about transfers - ask and we can work it out.
"A cemetery is a history of people - a perpetual record of yesterday and sanctuary of peace and quiet today. A cemetery exists because every life is worth loving and remembering - always." (author unknown)

WOW, that was strange. Yes I was using my iPhone & tablet and they showed correct positions. I have deleted them and re-posted to both memorial in the correct positions. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Enjoy, Glenn

Greeting Donna, I'm looking at Ruby Carney's
memorial now and all the pics in the correct
position. Thank, Glenn
|Diane Kennedy||Phebe Wanser|
You have posted Phebe Wanser in Brookville Cemebtery, she is the daughter of Garret Bennet and his wife Maria. Could you please link her to her parents and brother? She married Walter Wanser. He is buried in The Old Quaker Cemetery in Wantagh NY.
Thank you so much,

Oh okay thank you. I forget that sometimes. I see some duplicates that are a mass memorial and some that are the person themselves. I get confused sometimes over that and don't know whether to leave a flower or not on which memorial. I like to make sure everyone has a flower. If am adding someone to my lists, I get confused as to which one to add. :)
Thank you for the transfers

|Leeann||Jane Amm Houghtaling|
1. Jane's middle name is Amm (not Ann), probably her maiden name (many Amm families in NY came from Germany, England or Scotland).
2. "Inscription: 54, 7, 22" is her age at death.
The stone says:
AE 54 years, 7 months and 22 days
She died Sept. 29, 1860 at age 54, probably born about 1806.

Thank you, I have corrected it. Have a pleasant week-end. Thank you for all your work on this
site. It's really appreciated. I do what and when I can. I do enjoy it and know it helps people locating their loved ones.

Donna, thank you for asking, but No. I've all I can do to manage what I have. What I'm trying to do now is fill in blanks for others where I have data in the family tree. Actually, there are 16 or 17 trees as I've done one for all sides of my family, my wife's family plus our children's spouses (wedding gifts) and then 8 grandchildren's spouses (also wedding gifts). We lost a granddaughter this past March (our youngest daughter's), hence the count is now 7. She left behind a 10 year old son and husband. Life is difficult at times, but it's also a marvelous ride. Barb & I met in 7th grade have been married 61 years and counting. We're getting ready for our 1st snow of the season (ugh) and we trust it is well with you and yours. Dick
