Welcome - |
We are doing a holy service by remembering the dead, and preserving history.
I think we all have a piece of the puzzle and if everyone contributes, questions will be answered.
please note - FINDAGRAVE as the name implies is a grave registration site and NOT a genealogy site. Although it can be very useful for genealogy.
This a wonderful site for remembering people. Peoples lives are fascinating and they deserve to be remembered and documented.
Please remember we are not just entering names or stones, but real people. Please ask yourself if your memorial is search-able. All memorials should have last names. Women who never marry, and children don't have maiden names. There is no maiden name unless the name changes. Also please do not use ().
Please do NOT create duplicates.
If you notice any mistakes, please let me know, and I will be happy to fix them. Nobody is perfect, we are all fallible human beings mostly doing the best we can at the moment.
We are merely stewards of 'our' memorials - we manage them and are entrusted with their care and maintenance, but we do not technically 'own' them.
Please read the FAQs (frequently asked questions). Thanks, and please try to resolved unknown burials ASAP.
Please free to use any of my photos with appropriate citations. Will also add updates, -the more info, the better. I don't have a policy about transfers - ask and we can work it out.
"A cemetery is a history of people - a perpetual record of yesterday and sanctuary of peace and quiet today. A cemetery exists because every life is worth loving and remembering - always." (author unknown)

You're welcome any time, Donna.
You & other Find A Grave contributors around the country, do so much with your contributions & hard work for those of us no where near where our family members might be buried.
Those of us who are the beneficiaries of all that time & effort can never say "Thanks" enough times!!

Thanks for pointing out the cemetery mixup.
Both Webbers have been deleted from the Coons Cemetery in favor of the other memorials in Coons Burying Ground.

Thank you very much for updating these memorials. Emilie and Elizabeth were sisters both married to Austin M. Slauson. I know their parents were Thomas Carpenter and Jane Underhill, but I haven't located their graves yet.
Thanks, Donna, for the information and for getting back to me so quickly!
I will check with the library there to see what they can find for me as you suggested.
If there is anything I can do for you here in southern Arizona please do not hesitate to ask.
I believe that
Franz C Papenfuhs (memorial 104401094)
was my father's (Albert Papenfuhs, memorial 36508016)
uncle on his father's side and that
Gordon P Papenfuhs (memorial 104401296)
was his cousin (son of Franz).
I have been unable to find my father's
parents either on Findagrave or anything
about their deaths (they died after my
Their names were Bert Papenfuhs and
Charlotte Papenfuhs. They lived in New
York about 50 miles of NYC I think. My
father spoke with his family on the phone
often but we always lived thousands of
miles away so I do not have many memories
of any of them.
I found it fascinating that my father
and his cousin Gordon passed within days
of each other on opposite sides of the
Would you know how to find out the
cemetery of my grandparents, Bert and
Charlotte? I have few memories but those
I have are fond and I would like to get
memorials onto Findagrave for them.
Thank you for any help you can give.
