Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm a big fan of the website. I've always been fascinated by the history of old cemeteries. I am the 7th generation of many branches of my family tree that have lived in Eastern,Ky. Family names that I'm a descendant of, or seeking information about are the Justice, Stephens, Patton, Duncan, Frazier, Boiling (or Bolling), Hicks, Wicker, Hunter, Huff, May, Bradley, Jones and the Ratliff families of Floyd, Pike and Knott Counties of Kentucky.
(I will gladly make any corrections when I am made aware of them).

John Harvey Murphy
Mr Justice I notice the posting for Elliott Murphy buried at Stephens Cemetery Floyd Co Martin Ky. I am looking for John Harvey Murphy's death and burial. He was Elliott's father and is my Great Grandfather. I find birth and marriage in W VA but nothing on his death or burial. My mother, his granddaughter tells me he was suppose to have been shot and killed in Floyd Co and she doesn't know where he is buried. I am working on my ancestry tree and stumped. I have had others trying to help me find him also but to no avail. So I thought I would give you a shout . thanks

William Hicks, Sr. Hicks Cemetery
William Hicks, Sr. was the son of Charley and Elizabeth Carpenter Hicks in answer to the question on his memorial page. He was my uncle and I am surprised no one else in the family had already let you know that. It would be appreciated if you could make that entry. Thanks!

I noticed you photographed some tombstones in the Taylor Cemetery in Wolfe County, KY. Could you please tell me how to get there?

Thanks

Colonel Andrew Jackson May
Hey Vernon, someone needs to do a bio for him. A good person would be David Preston. He wrote the book, May's, Diamond's and Trimble's "Yankee Chasers". A Photo would be nice also. There is one in the book. Thanks, Diane

Stephens Family Cemetery in Martin
Justine can you tell me how old those pictures of the cemetery are? I had a guy go and look at the shape of the cemetery today and only saw a couple standing Tall headstones. He found a Samuel and Rebecca Stephens stones flat flush with the ground. More modern stones. She was born in 1873 and died 1919 he died in 1948. Do you know if these guys are in the cemetery you have listed?
