I don't know why, but I have always been interested in graveyards and the many different types of headstones. It seems everytime time I pass a cemetery in my car, I slow down and take a peek.|
I am mainly interested in the names Agee, Best, Bondurant, Copeland, Elliott, Fernandez, Fonda, Kaufman, Laur, O'Hara, Parker, Pippin, Snell, Van Gelder, and Williams. All decendents [at least by name]. But I will also post memorials on friends and distance relatives.
When I post a memorial, I try and give you references where I found the information. However, if I find the information such as cemetery listings while doing research on the names I mentioned above, I will post those also [without the reference], even though they may or not be related.
If you find errors in my posting, please feel free to provide the corrections, but please provide me a reference and Email me that reference. Of course photos are always welcomed and if you would care to sponsor a site, please do so.
Also, I do not care to accumulate memorials just to have a lot of numbers on my profile. If you are a direct family member, I will be happy to transfer any memorial. Please provide me your relationship.
Also if you are interested in obtaining photos at the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, Manila, Philippines, here is how you obtain those. I was there recently and I talked to them about photo requests. I talked to the receptionist named April dela Virgen and she said they are happy to do that for you and the will send you a .jpg file of the grave or memorial. You can email her at email@example.com or others at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.

Thank you so much for the service you provide for thousands of families.
In our case a special Thank you is in order. While researching my husband's family we came across your posting for Great, Great Uncle Emilio Grupe. While my husband was born in 1946, his family resided in Manila during the Japanese occupation and he grew up with hundreds of stories including his uncles bravery and unfortunate death.
After we saw your posting we had to learn more. Believe it or not, Aunt Alice, Emilio's wife is still with us. She will be 101 years old in September. We located her children as well as Aunt Alice and immediately had a reunion. They only lived an hour from us all these years.
What brings me to write to you, is on the Find a Grave website you post a letter from The Travelers Insurance directed to the Foreign Affairs, State Department. WHERE did you get this letter? As you can imagine, we are quite interested, as Travelers never made any payment to Alice. I would really appreciate your assistance in this regard. Linda

I am interested in your contribution to my father's info, re the papers regarding his death in the Philippines. I have the family copies of all of these, but I saw you had a reference to cemeteries and memorials in Manila. Is there something there about him? I lived in Manila 1948-50.

I have submitted a change to his birthplace as Baltimore,MD.

You left virtual flowers on my grandmother's grave, Ludia Hatcher, that you were 5th cousins. I am trying to find information on the Wills family. the only thing I have is her father's name, Henry Wills and her mother Sarah Wills Smoot. Do you have any information you can share with me? I would appreciate it very much.
Thanks, Bev Vera

Hello Jack, Just found your Memorial #119340654 on James Adelbert Williams. Are you perhaps related to him or know anything about him? I am looking for a James A. Williams born abt 1926 in Michigan to Harry F. & Laurel Emma "Hutchens" Williams. Last I found the family was in the 1940 Michigan Census in Clawson, Oakland County and James A. was 13 yrs. He is my 2nd Cousin and his dad Harry is my 1st Cousin 1x removed. Harry's parents were Fred & Kathryn "Lambert" Williams, and Fred is my Grand Uncle.
Hope you can help me on this family and just maybe we are kinfolk.
Thank You for your time and help!

Thank you for all of your work on Find-a-Grave. I live in Saugerties and am a cemetery walker. There is no such cemetery as the Hobart Cemetery in Saugerties. I spoke to William Spring's wife just the other day to see where William was buried and he was cremated and she still has him home with her. If you could please fix this problem, I and Mrs Spring would appreciate it

|Leilani||Rosa Reyes' memorial from Puerto Rico National Cemetery|
Hello, Mr. Williams,
My name is Leilani Belendez and I'm a member of Find a Grave. For the past 3 years I have been answering photo requests and have researched the history of the cemetery and people buried there, especially from the 1910-1950's. I find their information and include it in the memorials for genealogical purposes. You can see an example of what I do in memorial #3238269 for Carmen L. Ortiz.
I took a photo for Rosa Reyes, whose memorial you created on Oct. 7, 2012 (#98452617) and I searched for her information. I found her death certificate and her US National Cemetery Control Form. I wanted to ask you if it would be possible for you to include her information on her memorial if I sent it to you. Would you mind? You would only have to copy/paste it.
Congratulations on your work for Find a Grave, it's truly amazing.
PS Rosa Reyes was the mother in law of Sgt. Sanchez, not his wife.
