Thomas Steven Williams
Greetings, Kat
Below is the text I've sent to the Schott Family which maintains Mem# 33282939 - for Thomas Steven Williams, Sr. = the same as for your Mem# 97473377 - same person.

May I impose upon the two of you to get together and sort out who will maintain a single memorial for Thomas SR., and to which we can send more information we have about the gentleman?

Would appreciate it greatly.
Respectfully,
Kevin (Bud) Henson
--------------------------------

We have an interesting confluence of conflicting information which I'd like to help sort out.

Sgt Thomas Stevens Williams Sr., (b 2 Jan 1827, d 18 Mar 1860) was killed at Bitter Springs, CA. He was buried there by his companions. See the article at:

http://cdnc.ucr.edu/cgi-bin/cdnc?a=d&d=SDU18600402.2.6&e=-------en--20--1--txt-txIN--------1

I shall attempt to make a short life-story offering for inclusion in the future.

I will suggest that the 'Sgt' should be dropped if possible since it complicates finding him.

The F.A.G. Mem# 33282939 lists him as being buried at Soda Spring, ID - which is incorrect. I have, this morning, spoken to Mr. Jeff Anderson, sexton of the Fairview Cemetery at Soda Springs, ID. He confirms that they do NOT have Williams SENIOR at their facility, though they do have two of SR's wives, some of their children AND, TSW, JUNIOR is in residence at Fairview Cem. However, there is no evidence the body of Williams SENIOR was ever removed from CA and taken to ID.

In addition, Kat Carter has created a separate memorial for Thomas Stevens Williams - it is F.A.G. Mem# 97474477. I shall contact her with this same information and let the two of you decide what to do. One of these should go away. Carter's is less specific about Williams.

Martha Rose Giltner
Good Afternoon Miss Kat,

The internment location for Martha Rose Giltner is just to the left or the right of the big headstone for Jennie & James F Giltner. Could anyone take a picture of it by chance?

The cemetery information is:
Mount Sterling Cemetery
Massac County
Illinois, USA

Thank you very much!!!

Molly

Thank you for your reply. I was wondering because I found you had several Gibbons memorials. And was hoping you could give me some information.

Here you go Kat.
“Shoshone Cemetery A-G, Lincoln County, ID” Retrieved from http://files.usgwarchives.net/id/lincoln/cemeteries/shoshone1.txt

Eliza already has a memorial, I found after I suggested these corrections. It only lists her maiden and first married name, and not her last, which was Goad. She was my husbands Great-great grandmother. Here is the other memorial number: 67775140. If you have any other questions, please let me know. Thanks for managing her memorial.

RE: Amelia Meekin 9423905
Kat - Thank you that is a great idea. Being a novice in the contributing of memorials - I didn't think about that issue. I will keep the Amelia Meekin memorial if I do get control of it. I can easily edit it and add a pointer to the correct memorial. Thanks again.

Hannah Cordelia Mecham Carter Memorial# 112595373
Kat - You need to identify the cemetery of this person as the Carterville Cemetery, Council Bluffs, Pottawatomie, Iowa.

There is a 1902 newspaper article about this abandoned cemetery where a guy is quoted describing Hannah's untimely death. He had her name mangled a little and the fact that she was married to a Joseph Young - instead of William Furlsbury. But the person quoted stated she was buried in the Carterville Cemetery. The journal you quote on her memorial also states she was buried where Dominicus' wife was buried and Saphronia Babcock Carter was buried at Carterville.

Thus the change should be made. I wrote a life story on Hannah if you are interested.
See: https://familysearch.org/photos/stories/85415?returnLabel=Hannah%20Cordelia%20Mecham%20(LZGC-BLR)&returnUrl=https%3A%2F%2Ffamilysearch.org%2Ftree%2F%23view%3Dancestor%26section%3Dmemories%26person%3DLZGC-BLR

It is such a sad story.

There is a duplicate of her - but it is based on that 1902 newspaper clipping - calling her Amelia Meekin - but is it Hannah Cordelia. The contributor of that memorial has died and I have asked to have ownership of that memorial. If you will move your Hannah memorial over to the Carterville cemetery I will delete the other memorial as a duplicate.

OK?
