Bio Photo      I enter records here on Find A Grave for two reasons: First to help others find the graves of lost family members and second to remember our War Hero's who have "Given Their All" for our country!

If you'd like me to fix any of the records that I maintain ... please click on the "Edit" button on the top right of the record, click on "Suggest a Correction" ... Enter your note and/or correction and I'll fix them as quickly as possible.

When requesting a transfer use the edit tab on the memorial and follow the below from F-A-G. Or the request will be ignored.

From F-A-G

"Explain your relationship in the request! Any non-direct relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) are not required to be transferred. Keep in mind that the original contributor may also be related to the memorial and may not make the transfer. Bulk surname requests should not be made."

I'm currently working on updating and entered Soldiers and Sailors who "Gave Their All" during World War II. To see more on this project please click on my website below...

I originally started researching my Family Tree when my oldest son, Chris, came home from school one day and said that they had to write up their family tree as a project. This, of course, led me to many cemeteries and I quickly became interested in them also.

I've always enjoyed history and the two fell together.

Again, If I've created a record that someone needs deleted (since some families do not want their loved ones on the internet) or that you want me to update please let me know and I'll be glad to update it for you.

Accessing an old abandoned gravesite on private land...
Dear Sir, My great-great grandfather was William Henry Carey, who is buried in the Short Farm Cemetery in Hartly, Del. The entry with photo lists your name in the 'created by' field.

Did you take the photo? How does one get permission to visit the place as it's clearly on private land nowhere near much of anything. I'm sure I could find it with some Deep Woods Off, a compass and a little effort (Google Earth was very useful) but I hesitate to just hike into someones property unannounced.
Any information you'd be willing to share would be much appreciated.
Yours truly, Rebecca Carey lindenelizabeth@yahoo.com

Rhoda Hartman
How even MORE THRILLING to find Rhoda, Conrad's wife. Are there stones or did you find these records in church or cemetery records?

Waitstill Hartman
How absolutely THRILLED am I to find this record of a potential burial place for Waitstill. Thank you every so much for what you are doing. Waitstill was killed in action while serving in the War of 1812 in the New York front. I found mention of his death in an old newspaper. His father was Conrad Hartman (Coonrad Heartman)98289225 who is buried in Bradford County, Pennsylvania. You can do a search and find his number. It would be so cool if you would link his father to him. In addition, I created a Virtual Cemetery burial for Conrad's wife who is Waitstill's mother. She is Rhoda (Parker) Hartman 115240779.

I have been researching this family for over 30 years. Conrad was a Hessian soldier captured at the Battle of Trenton Christmas 1776 who never returned home after the Revolution. I found his family in the 1810 census in Riga, NY.

Thank you, thank you.

I put in a photo request but The general problem they reported is: Cemetery office has no record of this person. Thought you could see if the proper cemetery could be located. thanks
