To keep weeds out of the beautiful Find A Grave garden....

First, I don't link to Unknown Burial Site Memorials as Unknown Burial Sites shouldn't be on FAG according to the guidelines of the website. The first criteria for making a memorial on FAG is having the burial site, as this is a grave registration site.

Second, I may or may not transfer outside of the guidelines to an established member. It is my choice. Long-time hard working-members, who are busy in surveying cemeteries and taking grave photos impress me more than someone who is collecting others' memorials for their personal goal or waiting for someone to find the burial sites for their numerous memorials made with an "unknown burial site".

Lastly, there are no duplicated memorials on FAG. If I find a duplicated memorial while researching this site, there is 99% chance that it will be deleted or merged eventually.

You may disagree with the guidelines but remember the guy who started Find A Grave wrote them. He is the boss.

Also, thank you for all the flowers and tokens left on my family's memorial. They are all sincerely appreciated by me and my family.

Linda, I just realized that she actually listed my Grandmother as a non-cemetery burial. This is not the case. I was researching and had a line on where she is buried. She should not have listed her memorial then? This would solve part of my problem! Please let me know. I'm at our business right now but will read those guidelines this weekend

I really will appreciate your response,

Kindest Regards,

Hi, Linda - I didn't realize I had two messages from you. I appreciate the help; however, I am curious as to why you are perusing my memorials. We don't have a connection that I know of, and I just found it unusual and not something I do. What brought you to me?

Thank you, Nancy

RE: Welcome to Find A Grave
Hi, Linda - thank you. I'll read that this weekend; however, as I waited to find a Great Grandparent's burial site, someone else added their memorial with gravesite "Unknown". She is a long-time member of Find a Grave, so I thought it was okay. It's not a good excuse as I should have found out for myself. I just thought that was apparently an option, particularly to keep from losing an important memorial (important to me).

What do I do in such a situation? She won't transfer as yet though I've asked very nicely and from the heart for an exception and through the proper "edit" tab. She does genealogy as a hobby and I do only family. She has created this long researched (by me) memorial and now it is out of my reach.

Any suggestions? Your help is much appreciated. Yes, I'm new and keeping my 93 year old Mother so I got into genealogy to occupy my time at home with something to interest her. I also help run our family business, so I have time to only do family members.

Kindest Regards,

RE: Maiden Names
Thank you so much for that, it hadn't occurred to me that it would affect the searching. I'll go through my memorials and change those soon. Thanks again, Happy Easter. ...

Hello, got your message abt the dup grave info. I though I was the only one working on that until I went in and could not get in to add or correct stuff i orginially put in. This is the church as well as the AME site in Putnam Hall that I attend. Both churchs are family churchs which I and family members belong to. I have and do keep a history on these churches from their beginning to today, and I add and update every opportunity I get until I couldn't. I would like for the ones who have made changes and now I cannot get,,,in to release Abilene to me to update and make corrections. Thank yall

RE: Duplicated grave photo
I posted the picture in Dec. 2013 and I see the other photo was posted a month later......not sure how or why you think I duplicated it.
