To keep weeds out of the beautiful Find A Grave garden....
First, I don't link to Unknown Burial Site Memorials as Unknown Burial Sites shouldn't be on FAG according to the guidelines of the website. The first criteria for making a memorial on FAG is having the burial site, as this is a grave registration site.
Second, I may or may not transfer outside of the guidelines to an established member. It is my choice. Long-time hard working-members, who are busy in surveying cemeteries and taking grave photos impress me more than someone who is collecting others' memorials for their personal goal or waiting for someone to find the burial sites for their numerous memorials made with an "unknown burial site".
Lastly, there are no duplicated memorials on FAG. If I find a duplicated memorial while researching this site, there is 99% chance that it will be deleted or merged eventually.
You may disagree with the guidelines but remember the guy who started Find A Grave wrote them. He is the boss.
Also, thank you for all the flowers and tokens left on my family's memorial. They are all sincerely appreciated by me and my family.

Thanks for the heads up on the duplicate memorials. I appreciate it, I certainly try to not do that. I think we are related, btw, through the Union Parish Stephen Southard Heard line! Thanks again!!!

Thomas Henry Speight was my grandfather and he is buried at Woodlawn Cemetery. My dad is buried next to him. I went out there and took a picture of the gravesite. I have added it to the Find a Grave page. Are you related in some way?

Linda, I just realized that she actually listed my Grandmother as a non-cemetery burial. This is not the case. I was researching and had a line on where she is buried. She should not have listed her memorial then? This would solve part of my problem! Please let me know. I'm at our business right now but will read those guidelines this weekend
I really will appreciate your response,

Hi, Linda - I didn't realize I had two messages from you. I appreciate the help; however, I am curious as to why you are perusing my memorials. We don't have a connection that I know of, and I just found it unusual and not something I do. What brought you to me?
Thank you, Nancy
|Nancy Yankie Sidarous||RE: Welcome to Find A Grave|
Hi, Linda - thank you. I'll read that this weekend; however, as I waited to find a Great Grandparent's burial site, someone else added their memorial with gravesite "Unknown". She is a long-time member of Find a Grave, so I thought it was okay. It's not a good excuse as I should have found out for myself. I just thought that was apparently an option, particularly to keep from losing an important memorial (important to me).
What do I do in such a situation? She won't transfer as yet though I've asked very nicely and from the heart for an exception and through the proper "edit" tab. She does genealogy as a hobby and I do only family. She has created this long researched (by me) memorial and now it is out of my reach.
Any suggestions? Your help is much appreciated. Yes, I'm new and keeping my 93 year old Mother so I got into genealogy to occupy my time at home with something to interest her. I also help run our family business, so I have time to only do family members.
