Hello Joan,
I just stumbled upon this page you created. I am her older sister and am wondering how you knew her. Did you go to Maslow-Toffler with her? Thanks for making this page; I wish I had known about it sooner, as in 2004

RE: Hi Sandy...
Thank you so much for the transfer, Joan.

And, I apologize for the misunderstanding as to which Joan you were. (Her daughter, right?) I hope you forgive me for that.

What I want to know is how did my uncle found out - 8 months after her death!!! Was it a random Internet search?

Sincerely, Sandy

Aimetti Family
Hi Joan- I saw the listing for Giulio Aimetti and saw your name attached to it. Are you related to the Aimetti family? I am searching for two grandchildren of Giulio Aimetti. They are the daughters of Louis Gentile and Sue (Assunta) Aimetti (daughter of Giulio). I won't mention their names in this posting. My mother is their first cousin. Can you e-mail me at

RE: William P. Codman
Dear Joan,
Thank you for your helpful reply. After sending my message, I found that the image of William P. Codman and Henry Hall in the photographic collections of the Brentwood Public Library. I am interested in William P. as we own a portrait done by him during the 1820s, the years during which he worked as a portrait painter in Boston.
I wanted to know more about the artist and found there was rather little known. Filling in his background has been a very slow process, particularly before the Internet became available as a research tool. We now have information on WIlliam P. during his 1820-1831 Boston years and about Brentwood and the Modern Times community, and we know that he moved there from Charlestown, MA, with his son and son's wife about 1850. From the time William and his family left Boston in 1831 there seems to be no record of them until they reappear in Charlestown in the 1848 Charlestown Directory. So we are curious where they went and what they did during those ca. 18 years during which Charles grew up. Paintings by William P. are in public collections in Massachusetts including a portrait at the American Antiquarian Society in Worcester and another at the Fruitlands Museum in Harvard (the town, not the university).
The best way to contact me is by email rather than by phone. We can do the latter either by find-a-grave email (as we are now) or by exchanging email addresses.
Thank you for your message.

William P. Codman
Dear Joan,
Your information on William P. Codman and his son Charles (Brentwood Cemetery, Grave Memorial 23266421) was very interesting but the fine photograph you provided in 5/1/2009 of William P. Codman and Henry H. Hall was even more amazing to me. For about 35 years I have been researching William, who was a Boston, MA portrait painter from about 1820 until 1831 when he seems to disappear from the record, but then reappears in Brentwood about 1850.

I never imagined I would ever see an image of William! If you would be so kind as to say a few words about the image and it's background, I would appreciate it immensely! And if you happen to have any other photographs of William, I hope you might eventually post them too.
Thank you for considering this inquiry!
