Bio

When I started as a Find A Grave volunteer, I wanted to make memorials for my family members and some friends. Most of my mom's family are buried in my hometown cemetery, and there's a charity section that some call Potter's Field. One year, my Aunt Darlene and I gathered silk flowers so we could decorate these graves on Memorial Day. The rows of numbered markers are heartbreaking, and Darlene was so compassionate. I worked with the cemetery to access their records, and have been making memorials for everyone buried in this section. There are over 500 graves in this section, and around 200 markers carved with a number. I've been blessed enough to afford Ancestry and Newspapers to find the stories of each one's life. Sometimes there's very little, sometimes nothing, sometimes it's tragic. It's slow-going and in process, I've dedicated my work there to my Aunt Darlene. Thanks again for your visits.
