Atlanta, Georgia native saluting the contributions of known and unknown individuals, pacifically the fundamental role that African American's have played in the making of the American republic. Many of these known and unknown individuals broke barriers in the political, educational and entertainment arenas, as well as built up their communities, and achieved beyond what others deemed impossible. All saluted, from the famous to the obscure, deserve our gratitude, for their lives clearly demonstrate in some way-through perseverance, fortitude and hard work that people can overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles to fulfill their dreams and share their gifts with the world. Over the recent years I have learned and made some exciting discoveries about my ancestors. Find A Grave provides all of us a opportunity to learn about some of these individuals behind the struggles and triumphs that have helped shape the world in which we live. My hope is that more people will become more aware of the contributions that many of these individuals have made.|
A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives.
Thank you to everyone who have left tokens and kind words of rememberance for my memorials, especially my loved ones. Also, a special thank you to those who have sponsored memorials of my deceased relatives. God Bless!

A couple of names you may be able to add to African American History.
Lee Julian Purnell
Lee, the Son of Whipple was a prominent engineer in the Oakland Bay Area, CA. His father (Whipple Purnell) was one of the first African American Physicians in the Oalkand, CA area.
Lee is on Find A Grave.

I loved reading Lena's memorial. She was blessed with 104 years! Not many people can say their loved one was around that long. I'll have to ask her a few questions when I get to where I'm going :)

Please find out as much info as you can about the location of the stone. I was there today 12/23/2016 and it was tough to find stones. There wasn't an office or anyone on the property and for some reason all of the street/lot signs were painted over in black. I will try again another time.

Greetings My Brother, Again another giant in the gospel field has transitioned. Hope you have the time and opportunity to give him a proper Memorial Bio. At this moment words fail me and I am too close to the situation to attempt the task. Willie "Joe Ligon" would appreciate your touch. Take Care.
