A Southern Family Tree is not a tree but a beautiful Wisteria Vine with many branches going everywhere and a lost root!|
NSDAR 1988 Patriots: Rev. Lewis Cookson Davis, John Anderson, Charles Heard, William Hay, Lt. Willis Pope, Nathaniel Jones,John Stovall, Absalom Davis and Owen Griffin. Only one has a known grave site so the rest do not have memorials on FAG. (Update Nov 2015: found that other members are now making unknown burials of these patriots meeting their genealogy storage goal and not FAG's goal of recording graves sites)
Colonial Dames of XVIIC 2009 Colonial Ancestor: Bartholomew Stovall, NC
Amelia Island Genealogical Society~ Corresponding Secretary 2004-2005 and Past Nassau County, FL Genealogical Website Committee member.
Published in the Quarterly magazines of the Southern Genealogical Exchange and Amelia Island Genealogical Society articles on my family and various others of North FL lines.
6th Generation Floridian: Ancestor Florida Pioneer Abner Sweat and son Samuel.
To keep weeds out of the beautiful Find A Grave garden....
First, I don't link to Burial Unknown Site Memorials as BU shouldn't be on FAG according to the guidelines of the website. Do not request relationship edits to a BU as it will be refused. The first criteria for making a memorial on FAG is having the burial site, as this is a grave registration site. When you made a BU, you have a chance of losing the memorial to the member who "Find A Grave" in the cemetery.
Second, I may or may not transfer outside of the guidelines to an established member. It is my choice. Long-time hard working-members, who are busy in surveying cemeteries and taking grave photos impress me more than someone who is collecting others' memorials for their personal goal or waiting for someone to find the burial sites for their numerous memorials made with an "unknown burial site".
If you are seeking transfer to "have all your family together" ~ use the virtual cemetery button. Then all of the memorials will be in the same "cemetery", and you can look at them daily.
Lastly, there are no duplicated memorials on FAG. If I find a duplicated memorial while researching this site, there is 99% chance that it will be deleted or merged eventually.
You may disagree with the guidelines but remember the guy who started Find A Grave wrote them. He is the boss.
Many of the memorials transferred to me were done without my request for them. These memorials have found a home and will be nurtured.
Also, thank you for all the flowers and tokens left on my family's memorial. They are all sincerely appreciated by me and my family.
Remember to check on the Discussion Forums here. They are very newsy, helpful and interesting!

Linda, I'll be more than happy to visit the cemetery and see what I find.

|Chris||Photo Requests for Bice|
I just noticed there are already memorials with photos for Robert and Marsena Bice in the Boiling Springs Cemetery but the dates are different. Are these the same people you are looking for? I'll be happy to go look for you if they are indeed different people.

I always check the Veteran's Gravesite Locator to see if someone, either male or female, has served our Country. I always put that info in the BIO section, then place the appropriate flowers in the FLOWERS section.

I am looking for information on a page that you left flowers.
James Staples 1810-1875 (he actually died in 1874) and especially some information left on his profile that I am trying to verify. i am new on this site so sorry if I am not up to speed on protocol.

I humbly apologize for bothering you a third time with this message, but I have now seen the smaller funeral marker you were talking about, which has her name as "Elouise". I think the funeral marker holds a good deal of weight, as the stone was handmade. Re-checking her information, I did overlook that there are discrepancies with the death information, which is not unusual. The "U.S., Social Security Applications and Claims Index, 1936-2007" has her listed as "Eloise", while the "Florida Death Index, 1877-1998" has her listed as "Elouise". As such, perhaps to better suit the guidelines of Find-a-Grave and to address both variations, a spelling of "Elouise" in the name and "Eloise" in the nickname would be more helpful for future researchers who are trying to find her. Just a thought, but whatever you end up doing is fine with me. Thanks again!

My apologies for not including this information in the message below!
|Time Traveler||RE: requested edits|
If you look closely at the marker in the photo, it has the spelling as "Eloise", not "Elouise". I was processing her information in my family tree and noticed that other people had added the "S. Elouise" as well. Not sure if it was because of Find-a-Grave, or if someone had sent you that information from Ancestry, but there are no supporting records showing it as such. Either way, thanks for the discussion, which is more important than the correction! Have a good one!

I added a better photo for Edith Hobart. Memorial 78955968.
|Richard Symonds||RE: Sgt Tom Davis Jr|
My apologies. There seemed to be 2-3 virtual flowers on his page that were placed by you and indicate you are his daughter. When I click on those flowers, your page opens up.
