To keep weeds out of the beautiful Find A Grave garden....

First, I don't link to Burial Unknown Site Memorials as BU shouldn't be on FAG according to the guidelines of the website. Do not request relationship edits to a BU as it will be refused. The first criteria for making a memorial on FAG is having the burial site, as this is a grave registration site. When you made a BU, you have a chance of losing the memorial to the member who "Find A Grave" in the cemetery.

Second, I may or may not transfer outside of the guidelines to an established member. It is my choice. Long-time hard working-members, who are busy in surveying cemeteries and taking grave photos impress me more than someone who is collecting others' memorials for their personal goal or waiting for someone to find the burial sites for their numerous memorials made with an "unknown burial site".

Lastly, there are no duplicated memorials on FAG. If I find a duplicated memorial while researching this site, there is 99% chance that it will be deleted or merged eventually.

You may disagree with the guidelines but remember the guy who started Find A Grave wrote them. He is the boss.

Many of the memorials transferred to me were done without my request for them. These memorials have found a home and will be nurtured.

Also, thank you for all the flowers and tokens left on my family's memorial. They are all sincerely appreciated by me and my family.

RE: Photos
I called Ancestry and they said that "Find-a-Grave" entries were transferred to Ancestry.

I then checked Ancestry's FAQ's. Apparently the transfer process is a little slower than grass growing.

Any way thought you would like to know.

RE: Thanks for the photo
We added a few more pictures of William Winters grave. Thought it would be nice to see the surroundings of where his grave is.

RE: Wolf's burials

I do not disagree with anything that you have said.
However my solution runs contrary to what you suggested. I amended the Bio section of each entry that I had in the Huddle Cemetery to tell anyone who came to that entry that the grave had been moved. I believe that solved the problem and although there will be duplicate entries the record will be clear and it will be clear that whatever record they had referred to was originally correct as well.

I found that not all the burials at Huddle had been recorded at Groveport. I also found that not all the burials at Huddle had been recorded at Haddle, they moved 56 graves but only 46 are recorded at Huddle. I will correct that at Huddle and Groveport. I want to thank you for catching this error and taking the time to point it out. I hate making mistakes like this.

RE: Photos
Hate to bother you again. I have added 3 new sites. I am hoping to add about 50 more. I do have two questions. First how do I get the Grave site in the individual profiles in Ancestry? Secondly my pictures are all in TIFF format. So why do I not change them? Because I have downloaded two sites and they might as well have been written in Latin. I am barely computer literate. Having been raised when our phone was an 8 party line and typewriters were manual (if you had one). I have tried to contact Find a Grave to ask these questions. But alas my feeble attempts have failed. Hopefully they will see and read this missive and take mercy on us old folks. You are getting this because you are the only person that I have ever heard from at Find a Grave that was willing to help.

RE: Wolf's burials
Thank you for the information. I missed that when I entered the grave information. I thought that I had checked and could not find information for those burials. I sure I checked, but I guess I could be wrong. I had looked for some of those names as they pertain to my own tree.

I have to think about this, I don't want to be responsible for bad info on line. I may end up deleting the entries. However if folks do not use Find A Grave and pick up the information, as I did, out of library books they will still be wrong.

RE: Wolf's burials
I am wondering if perhaps the better solution is to leave the records but amend them to point out that those interred have been moved. The written record is still out there and someone (me) could make the
mistake as I did.

RE: Photos
Thank you so much. I have quite a few people that I want to provide with a memorial. I will take your advice and read the instructions closely. I have asked if they could include pictures from TIF which will make it easier for me to add. I live in Western, Montana if you ever need someone to check a site I will be happy to help even Northern Idaho.

Thanks again
