|Sarah||Ruth Norman was my teacher.|
My 11th grade English teacher at Stonewall Jackson High School in Charleston, West Virginia was Ruth
Stephenson Norman. She was a life changer in that she was such a positive influence on my educational experience. She was an excellent teacher and demanded the best from her students. Because of her, my writing skills were fine tuned and were an asset in my future education and career. As a role model, she was elegant in all ways. I will never forget her encouragement and kindness. What a contribution she made to so many facets of life and the education system. She was an inspiration.

Wow, those are very detailed instructions! Thank you very much - I will try to go this weekend and find it.
|Shari Richardson||Spring Hill Cemetery - William Fowler|
Can you give me any information to help me find the site for William Thomas Fowler in Spring Hill Cemetery, Charleston WV? He was my great grandfather, and I recently visited the cemetery to try to find his gravesite. I was unsuccessful, and would appreciate any information you can provide that would help me locate it.
Thanks in advance!

I looked at a map, and it appears to me that the Haynes Cemetery is east of I-77, but the Thaxton Cemetery (Thaxton Hollow one) is west of I-77. I don't see them as being side by side. How close together did you think they were?

Thaxton Hollow branches off from Wolf Pen Road. Shain Gandees vehicle was found in a wooded area near Thaxton Hollow as the Kanawha Co Sheriffs office reported. The following map also shows where it is located.

I haven't heard of the Hayes cemetery, but I will look that up. Wolf Pen Road intersects with Thaxton Hollow Drive. The Thaxton cemetery is diagonally up on the hill from where the two roads intersect. Your photo of the Wolf Pen Thaxton cemetery looks a lot like my photo of the Thaxton Hollow Thaxton cemetery. At least in that they are both on the side of a hill. This is still a mystery to me. I will keep working on it. I still suspect that they are the same cemetery, but I can't be sure. Thanks.
|Jerry Shaver||Solve a Question|
Kenny, I need some information. Since I am in Florida and can't very well research this, I was hoping you might be able to assist me. My question is related to the Thaxton Cemetery which was on Harold Thaxton's property. On Find A Grave there are three Thaxton cemeteries listed in Kanawha County. One is at South Charleston. One is listed as Thaxton Hollow. And the other one is listed as Wolf Pen. I am familiar with the one at Thaxton Hollow. However, I noticed that Wolf Pen Road intersects with Thaxton Hollow Drive. So I am wondering it two different people put two different cemetery listings on Find A Grave, but that maybe they are in fact the same cemetery. Do you know anything about that? Is the Thaxton cemetery at Wolf Pen the same as the one at Thaxton Hollow? If so, they need to be combined. I just thought since you live in that area that you might know. Then I can clear up the mystery. I also found one reference to a Thaxton cemetery at Alum Creek. Is that near either one of those two listings? Thanks.
