Im from Maryland but I currently live in Memphis, TN for the time being. When I have some free time I am hoping to explore/photograph some of the older unmarked graveyards in the city & around this area. I've loved cemeteries since I was a child. My grandmother liked to visit them & she usually let me tag along even when I was little. She would search for the forgotten & neglected ones in order to document them. She made charcoal rubbings & taught me her techniques (didnt have the fancy kits u can get now) She loved doing them & i try to continue the tradition since she passed away. I want to protect & restore the forgotten/lost places of burial & name markers. So even a stranger can see a name & wonder about that person's life long ago. No one deserves to be forgotten. & maybe 200 years from now, someone will look at my tombstone & wonder about my life :)
