Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a native of Memphis, Tennessee, an Elmwood Cemetery interpreter and a historic property docent. Local gay historian and writer. Have memorials for the Astor, Garavelli and Hill families related to me and some interesting personages I know about.
I will be posting more photos so my family members will become real people again and not just some leftovers under the grass.

Tagging Others in Bio's
I have noticed you tag the deceased family members in their Bio's and I am trying to figure out how that is done.

Hinds
Hi Vincent. I noticed that you had posted some photos of Margaret Jamison Hinds on this site. I am almost sure that I was related to her husband, Milbourn Hinds. I know I was if his mother was Alice Gartrell Hinds, who definitely had a son who used that variation of the spelling of the name. I cannot seem to find an obit for Margaret or Milbourn. Seems like Milbourn also had a brother. If you know anything about this family please let me know at thomastimothyday@gmail.com. Thanks

Hi,
I'm writing to find out more information about my great grandmother, Rose Elizabeth Astor, her parents, their parents, etc. I am the grandson of her son, Milton Paul Holland, Jr and my name is Paul Bowden. My mother is a Holland.
Please let me know when we can speak. Thanks, Paul Bowden or pauldavisbowden@yahoo.com.

Kate E. Magevney Hamilton
Hi: Because you had a picture posted I though maybe you could answer if she had a sister or was she herself married to my great-great-uncle who is also buried with the Magevneys...John William Dawson 1837-1872.

RE: Melrose Cem. Whiteville, TN
Thanks, I could not get their map to work, glad you did.

I sent a message asking them to add the location as at the corner of Melrose and Maple Street in Whiteville, TN.

Warmest regards,
Margie

Melrose Cem. Whiteville, TN
Thanks for posting the photo of Melrose Cem. in Whiteville. I have had no luck in finding Melrose on any map, google or google earth. Will you please give me the directions. My Childers family are buried there and I need information from the headstones for their dates of death.

Thanks,
M. Daniels

RE: Abbot or Abbott?
I see s/he spelled the name both ways in the body of the text, too. It's definitely spelled Abbott in the cemetery records. (I checked.) You could try contacting the original poster and asking them to combine both articles and correct the spelling. If you don't get a reply, contact Find A Grave and explain the problem. Sometimes they will try contacting the person and if they don't get a response either, they will transfer control of the memorial to you and then you can combine and delete as you see fit. Thanks for looking into this.

Re: Francis Abbott
Sorry, that link didn't come through the way I expected it to but his memorial number is at the end of the HTML text. If you click on your memorial and then go to the bar at the left and click on "Find all Abbotts at Oakwood" that will also bring up the other memorial.
