Eli Prindle Thanks for posting the photo of Eli's headstone. I worked long and hard for nearly two years to get the Veterans to make that marker and get it placed. His marker was gone, like so many in Riverside Cemetery that have been stolen and vandalized. I wanted it placed in time for the 200th anniversary of the end of the War of 1812, as he fought in that last battle when the British surrendered. That anniversary date was on Sept. 11, 2014, but it was not until the spring of 2015 after the snow melted that it was placed.
You have done an outstanding job of photographing and linking the Monty Memorials together. I have been able to update a lot of my Monty genealogy using your Headstone Photos, Newspaper Clippings and my Monty Book "The Descendants of Jean Monty," by Jeanne R. Monty (1999). I am especially pleased with the memorial you did for my 5th Great Grandfather James "Jacques" Monty (155957997). I can't thank you enough for the tremendous job you have done!!!
RE: Edward Prairie Monument West Chazy Rural Don, Thanks so much for looking for a marker. I've removed the photo request and added a note to Edward Prairie's memorial... if you'd like me to change it in any way, please let me know. I've looked for a lot of unmarked graves too, and I do appreciate your efforts! Alice
