Geoff Brown was born in Liberty, Sullivan County, NY, and has had an interest in genealogy and local history since his childhood; but only after his (early) retirement from Citibank has he been able to devote sufficient time to this pursuit.

He lives in the Town of Salisbury, CT, and his primary interests are in Sullivan County, NY and Litchfield County, CT, although he is also interested in his father's families in Kentucky, Indiana, Virginia, etc.

Presently he is involved in research of the history of Lime Rock, CT, and particularly the Barnum Richardson Company and its influences on the area. He is currently webmaster, parish Clerk, and Historian of Trinity Episcopal Church, Lime Rock, and a member of the Friends of Beckley Furnace, a local historical society studying the Salisbury Iron District, its families and companies.
