Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hello everyone.

I came across this website and decided it was a nice way to honor forever those loved ones who have crossed my path of life at some time whether family, friends, co-workers or their families. I have also included quite a bit of information on my family (Rake/Raike & McCane) as it becomes available for genealogy purposes.

If by adding any of your loved ones I have overstepped my bounds or upset you that is not my intent. If you do not like what I have done please let me know and I can delete the information.

Please use the edit button for sending any requests for corrections or transfer.

If you have other loved ones you would like for me to add just send me their information and I will be happy to do so for you.

Take care....

Greg

The comment below isn't mine but I saw how true it was within a short time of being on Find A Grave. I copied this to share from another member's site:

I think it is really a shame what findagrave has evolved into. What started as a noble way to link people with graves of loved ones they could never hope to see, and with the generations that had preceded them, has turned into a game for some.

Memorials have turned into a kind of "trading card", a competition of who can own the most memorials and post the highest numbers. What has been forgotten by many is that these are people, loved in life and death, not a commodity to be traded or owned.

My apologies to those that have pure motives. I hope there are more of us than there are of them.

You may use any of my photos for your own personal use or for posting to your tree on Ancestry.com without my expressed consent. You are not permitted to use my photos for commercial usage. If you do use my photos, I appreciate a note crediting me with the photo if you can. If not, no big deal. The whole purpose of posting photos is to breathe life back to the deceased.

Memorial Competition
I could not agree more with the post you shared here on your Profile Page, regarding the acquisition of mega amounts of memorials by some people. I have come across two or three of these selfish, controlling individuals, who will not only not transfer memorials of my relatives, but who refuse to add information to their Biographies if it does not suit their impression of what should be reported. I had such an encounter this week, and even though I provided documentation to the memorial manager, she not only refused to accept it or acknowledge it, she wrote in my relative's Biography that it was not true and sent me a declination, saying it was "fraudulent" and would be "reported". I should report HER, but my sense is that the higher-ups at Find-A-Grave do not really care (from past experiences). I am totally disgusted.

RE: Thomas & Tiny Case Memorials
No problem Greg. Anything in Section 16 at East Hill was transcribed, except for a handful that were in my family tree. If you would like me to transfer these memorials to you, let me know.

Frank D. Hackleman
The photos that you attached to Frank D. Hackleman 27234720, are of Frank George Hackleman and they are not the same person or siblings, but cousins in some degree. I have submitted the edits to join Frank D. to his correct line of the Hackleman family, but you might want to remove the photos. I will look for a photo to add. Thanks, Karen Clark

I am just curious about the information you entered on Frank(?) Hardesty. I have a Roy Hardesty that was a PVT US Army in WWII. Do you happen to have the Parents names for Frank? My Hardesty is Pvt Roy Elmore Hardesty Memorial #1342892491. Could thee two be connected?

I have an obit for Ralph Matney that indicates the entombment was as East Hill Mausoleum. I'm not sure if it's permissible to add this information to someone else's managed site. So here it is____

OBIT: Rushville Republican(Rushville Indiana) Sat 26 Jan 1974_ Ralph Matney, 60, veteran utilities official, died of a heart attack Friday evening in Terre Haute where he had gone on a business trip. Mr. Matney, whose home was at 531 North Arthur here, was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Anthony Hospital in Terre Haute at 5:45 pm. The Vigo County Coroner's office ruled that a heart attack was the cause of death. Officials reported that Mr. Matney had pulled over to the side of a Terre Haute street in his car, evidently after becoming ill. He was rushed to the hospital after he was found there. For the last six years Mr. Matney had been employed as a Public Service Indiana coordinator and supervisor of traveling maintenance for all the company's plants in Indiana. He formerly was with the Rushville City Utilities for over 35 years, serving as superintendent the last several years. A Rushville resident most of his life, Mr. Matney was a member of the Main Street Christian Church. He was graduated in 1934 from Rushville HS where he lettered in football and track. He held the 880 yard record here for several years. A native of Indianapolis, he was born June 7, 1913, the son of John E. and Frances Brooks Matney, and was married February 15, 1936, to Margaret Disbro, who survives. Surviving with the widow is a son, William R. Matney, sports editor of the Rushville Republican, at home. Four brothers preceded him in death. The Rev. Leonard Dice will conduct services at 2 pm Monday at Moster and Sons Mortuary, where friends may call after 2 pm Sunday, with entombment in East Hill Shrine Mausoleum
