RE: Rosa & Samuel Bethjel
Thank you, Linda! I hadn't expected the transfer but am grateful for it! Plus I found another couple pictures to add once I revisited the memorial to add the bio!

Rosa & Samuel Bethjel
Linda, thanks for adding so many memorials, including those for Rosa, Find A Grave 95951065, and her husband. I'm with a Historical Society in Nebraska and had their wedding picture, and it was a pleasure to find a memorial for them so that I could post it in their memory. You do good and meaningful (volunteer) work!

RE: Skandia records
The request for Petra is by the same person, Larry who asked for photo of Hans Nelson's grave. I have told him there is no photo of her grave and am sending him some info from my local history book on Hans Nelson & Petra Hoel Nelson's family. I've added some dates for Petra and her maiden name from the history book. As for the transfers ... I am always happy to manage a memorial but I'll just leave it up to you. Perhaps the reference to a CAIRN should be removed from notes on folks in Skandia, as it is misleading when it is really just a record kept on a humble, small wooden board. Elaine :-) PS should I mark Larry's request as fulfilled??? or just leave it? E

RE: Skandia records
Hi Linda, Since all the gravestone photos for Skandia are mine, maybe it would be an idea to transfer those folks all to me too? How do you feel about that idea?
I uploaded a photo of the board to the cemetery title page with my other photos for the Skandia itself.
We'll see if the photo gets accepted. :-)
Otherwise I'll upload it to some of the folks buried there. By the way I guess the photo for Hans T. Nelson I uploaded today fulfilled a request for the photo, and I didn't even know there was a request for it. Serendipity! Very rewarding as I took all hoping to help others.
Thanks a million! Elaine

RE: Skandia cemetery
Hi Linda,
I can upload a photo of the board, but it pretty informal. The local families kept a small board, literally made of wood and various folks wrote on the board in ink or pencil roughly where the persons are buried. A very quaint and homegrown method of recording burials. You'll laugh when you see the board. :-)
Many of them don't have a visible stone today, if they ever did. The board simply says Mrs. Winje and I figured out where Mrs. 'Gina' Bratrud Winje info came from. It is in a local history book for Skandia and as such is actually incorrect according to the history submitted by a family member. This info was put on the Sask genweb cemetery project page for Skandia so I emailed the Sask genealogical Society to make a correction. We'll see what becomes of that request. Sorry for the confusion. Elaine

Mrs Petra Hanson
Hello, I am HAPPY to see all the family connections added to the folks in the Skandia Cemetery, Saskatchewan. (All the photos for Skandia cemetery are actually mine from 2005).
In 2005, I walked this cemetery & took photos and transcribed the inscriptions. I was shown the wooden board that had the names of folks buried here. Some did not have visible headstones and Petra Hanson # 113101229 was one of those.
Perhaps you could make a note of this so folks won't request a gravestone photo on Find a Grave.
My great grandparents David & Minnie Galloway and Thomas Giles are buried here. I live in BC. Keep up the good work. :-)

Thank you so much for taking the time to fill my photo request. The stone is beautiful and had tons of new information on it for us.
