We had a successful disinterment and reinterment of Jacob Youtcy in Kelvin/Kearny, Arizona. Over 300 people attended the funeral. Horses, caisson, Civil War re-enactors, Catholic priest in period vestments, the train honked as it went past the cemetery and two military planes flew over the parade and waggled their wings at Jacob as we went through town. Over 100 of his descendants and their families attended as well. God gave us a fantastically humbling day.

A Standers Affirmation

I made mistakes. Horrible ones. And poor choices. And was selfish and arrogant and lazy at times. I thought I was giving everything to my wife and marriage and children, but now I see so many places I could have done better, done more, made better choices, used kinder words.

I am still in love with my wife. I said "for better or for worse" and meant it. I said "in good times and in bad" and meant it. And I said "until death do us part" and I meant it. I still mean those things.

I will not speak angry words to my wife or about my wife. I will not use the children as pawns. I will not return slights with slights. I will speak love and goodness to her, about her.

So I am "standing" for our marriage. What that really means is I'm kneeling in prayer for our marriage. I will trust in God's faithfulness and His ability to do ANYTHING, including change hearts and reroute divorce. I was wrong in so many ways. Please forgive me, Barbara. I love you.
