The descendants of the old settlers, those who cleared the land and first upturned the wild sod to the sun, should see that the doings of those early years are fittingly remembered and recorded.
It was once remarked by a great writer that those who take no interest in the deeds of their ancestors are not likely to do anything worthy to be remembered by their descendants.

Please leave flowers or memorials on my memorials, I believe everyone deserves flowers, and I have a great family. Thank you in advance.
A BIG thank you to those who send histories, death notices, obits and links to add to the memorials. They are wonderful additions.
You may use my pictures and information for your family trees but I do like credit. This is all put on findagrave for your family trees because so many people have helped me with mine. Thank you.

Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out On polished, marble stone.
It reaches out to all who care It is too late to mourn.

You did not know that I exist You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our heart contracts and beat a pulse Entirely not our own.

Dear Ancestor, the place you filled One hundred years ago Spreads out among the ones you left Who would have loved you so.I wonder if you lived and loved,I wonder if you knew That someday I would find this spot, And come to visit you.

James Richard Campbell
I am sending an edit for the memorial 29793644, but I believe it needs more explanation. James Richard Campbell died in 1937. The gravestone inscription is wrong. If you could please process the edit and include an explanation, such as the following, in the bio section of the memorial, I believe that will help:

The CA Death Index 1905-1939 in Ancestry.com and the obituary indicate that he died 12 Mar. 1937, a Friday. The year of death on the gravestone is erroneous.

Thank you for the memorial and for making this adjustment.

Iris Smith & Leonard Shidler
Hi Barbara,

I came across a picture of Iris and Leonard Shidler taken at Knottsberry Farm on February 17, 1943. I found it with my grandparents' pictures. If you would like me to email it to you let me know.

Thanks

Malinda

Bio info for Jean Herold Drake
I appreciate your info but I believe I already have the correct info on my Grandmothers memorial. I looked and confirmed that it is all there and correct. She is my Grandmother so I know. Thank You.

Findagrave reminder
When a memorial is correctly placed in a cemetery, a duplicate memorial cannot be moved into that cemetery. The first memorial in the correct cemetery is the memorial that is kept. There is a 30 day window to update recent death memorial to their correct disposition. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

George Wyette Martin
Barbara,

You have George linked to a duplicate of his father John Henry Martin. The one you are linked to was created in 2012. The correct memorial was created in 2007 and the memorial number is: 20102868.

I would appreciate it if you would connect George to the correct memorial of his father.

Harriet Bertelmann Bannister #85927758
Aloha!
Would there happen to be gravestones for her & her husband Andrew Tell Bannister? If there are, could you take a pic and post it PLEASE! My reason for this is, Andrew Tell Bannister with same birth & death dates is buried (w/a pic and his father) in Makiki cemetery. His wife Harriet is buried (w/a pic) in Kaahumanu Society Cemetery. Her mother Susan Titcomb Bertelmann is also buried there. Also, Walter James Bannister is not Harriet's son. He is her grandson. His father is Harriet's son Norman Bannister and wife Mary Phillips Bannister that are buried at Valley of The Temples. Do you think we good get this fixed?
Much Mahalos, Gloria
