RE: PFC Dennis Gerard Murphy Thank you for your service and thank you for the work you do for Find A Grave. My aunt's (by marriage) brother was Lt. Col. Kenneth Ambrose Walsh - a fourth ranking US Marine Corps fighter ace in WWII. If I can help you out with any other photos at St. Charles or LINC Farmingdale, let me know.
Patrick E. Sinclair 68850606 Thank you for the excellent memorial on Patrick. We never knew the details of his death. I have made Find A Grave memorials for each of his parents. Could you link him to them?
FYI On Amelia Island, FL there is the Nassau County War Memorial listing all that KIA from WWI to present. I have researched each and seen that a Find A Grave memorial for each. I have a virtual cemetery on my profile page with each memorial. I don't manage all of them. Over the years more and more information has been obtained and added as it has been available online or family members have shared. Have a look when you have the time.
Some metal markers have been recently stolen from remote cemeteries and sold for their value as metal. This may be the case.
I was asking friends in Baker County to check on the situation and reapply to VA if the marker is missing.
I wanted his Find A Grave memorial to state "No marker" so another member wouldn't request a photographer to attempt a marker photo.
Thanks for the information. That could be added to the memorial also.
There is a Vietnam War Memorial downtown St Augustine. One of the young men whose name is on the memorial is buried in rural Putnam Co and his marker is missing too. All the paper work shows that he was buried in that cemetery with a flat metal marker but his grave is not marked either.
Danke Shoen for James Elmer Theisen memorial #121604868 Just a quick note to express my heart-felt appreciation for you work in creating this Find A Grave memorial. I am currently working on a project to honor the "Gold Star" families from my home town for Memorial Day this year.
As a "recovering" Nam vet... your details helped me immensely & this guy has to salute your efforts. Semper Fi, Marine!
